how does he fly? is it the natural ability? or technology?"

i ask cause he's carrying CA in his arms and flying, so it's not flapping. do those wings do anything?

they are wakandan-designed mechanical wings. i think he actually flies via some kind of anti-gravity device; like Nighthawk. at one point, his wings were made of hard light. i don't think that's still the case, though.

Those wings can be used as weapons too. He slashed a guy open with them once.

They are still made of hard light. HAve been for a couple years now. The hard light wings are also Wakandan tech.

No, it was explained in an Avengers annual that the mistake was caused by a malfunctioning sentinel, and his ability to talk to birds was given to him by the Red Skull and the cosmic cube that he had. OMG, I knew something about comics that DDM doesn't!!!

My Avengers history is spotty.

No, he flies (although he can also glide).

As others have already mentioned, he has been upgraded to 'hard light' holographic wings (which happened in the short lived CAPTAIN AMERICA & FALCON series), which give him a few more capabilities than his previous flight harness/propulsion unit.

i dnt see how artificial wings would make you one of the best aerial fighters compared to ppl with natural flight ability (or those who dnt need artificial stuff to fly)

He's held his own against multiple enemies. He even beat up some Navy Seals underwater.

In an X-men comic it would be Arch Angel.

In an FF comic it would be the Human Torch.

ETC...

Iron Man described him as "one of" the best aerial combatants in the world, making a specific note that he may be better at it than Tony is. That still leaves plenty of room for folks like Angel, etc...(In fact, Angel outmaneuvered and defeated Iron Man in an aerial battle once...though Iron Man was wearing a -much- older suit of armor when the encounter occurred).

In other words, just like saying someone's "one of" the greatest hand-to-hand fighters in the MU...there's plenty of other people that can claim that distinction as well.

Tony Stark called him a superior aerial fighter in the Civil War Files. i think it's a close race between Sam and Archangel. Warren was able to stalemate the Thunderbolts just by flying around.

In fairness, it was only 3 of the Thunderbolts, whom he caught by surprise.

Falcon and Vulture for the most part have the same means of flying using anti-gravity units which makes me want to see a fight between them now.

Well , the falcon did fairly well against the flying tiger in aerial combat. The bird beats the tiger. :D

I wish he flapped. There aren't enough flappers in comic books. Cuckoo Man flapped.

I wonder who would win in a fight, Flacon or Cuckoo Man. Probably Falcon. ;)

I was always impressed with how well The Vulture cleaned Spidey's clock every time he showed up in Stan Lee Spider-Mans. The Vulture is one nasty customer, and a pretty darn good aerial combatist...maybe no match for Cuckoo Man, but who is...besides Falcon? AH who am I kidding. Cuckoo Man couldn't fight his way out of damp tissue paper. He could "Clean your Clock," but only in a literal sense. He was a clock maker.

Well how does any superhero without rocket or working wings fly?
