Who else agrees? i'd say watch after "Batman" ( 1989), "Batman Returns" and "Batman Begins" when the ending credits start just play the song if you have it on CD cause it does fit the mood.

It's a great song but not particularly Batmanish.

My own favourite is the U2 song for Batman Forever, closely followed by the Smashng Pumpkins one for Batman and Robin.

I think I'd have to say U2's Hold Me Thrill Me... and I say that as someone who really dislike that particular band. I used to like The End is the Beginning is the End when it was released but I find it a bit embarassing now for some reason. Oh, and the Prince song that's playing in Batman when the Joker is throwing out his money is great too, even if the inclusion of that (and the rest of the Prince songs) is a little jarring as they completely contrast with the look and feel of the movie and keep it grounded in the 80's.

that Seal song is awful though, as are all of his songs.

As much as I liked the Seal and U2 songs, all I can say is I'm very happy that Baman Begins was an entirely orchestral score.

What the heck. I'll agree with it being the best song. It's an awesome song.

But the orchestral score to the 1989 Batman is unparalleled.

Partyman from Batman(1989)was the best.(Also it was one of the best scenes in this movie.)

It is physically impossible for "Kiss From a Rose" to be the best song on a soundtrack that contains songs by U2, Nick Cave, The Offspring, Massive Attack, and The Flaming Lips. But it's not as offensive as most modern R&B is to me.

!989 Batman theme, followed by "Party Man" (the song the Joker plays as he vandalizes the art gallery). Not a great song on its own, but it was just perfect for Joker. The funkiest man you've ever seen.

Where are the Siouxsie & the Banshees and the Flaming Lips' tracks in the movie? Or are they just in the credits?

The origional 60's Batman Movie has the best soundtrack by far.

The Flaming Lips track is during the part where Jim Carrey (I absolutely refuse to call him the Riddler) is using the fortune telling machine with the Riddler's costume on it.

As terrible as the movies were, the soundtracks were fantastic on those last two films. I'm partial to U2's song myself.

Alright! BATDANCE! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-m0n_y-SVDI)

I hate you almost as much as my friend who kept playing this many times on his TV / X-Box rig. Then again, he got the file off my harddrive, so I only truely hate myself.

Anyway, I'm pretty glad they stopped using pop songs and just did a score. They didn't even go for the cheap marketing gimmick of making a soundtrack 'inspired by the film'. Of course, I love the Batman Begins score. I wish more people apreciated film scores and less pop songs half-assed attached to the movie. Though 'The Saint' movie remake with Kilmner comes to mind as one I liked that put in pop/techno songs.

My favourite Bat song is The End is the Beginning is the End by the Smashing Pumpkins. I quite like the U2 song, but it sounds too much like Children of the Revolution. Seal's song isn't bad.

Oh my God yes. I can't believe I forgot that. It was just perfect for that entire scene. I still believe Jim could have been a dang good Riddler if it wasn't for the absolutely dire script. That one scene of the apartment of a puzzle and games fanatic that's been stepped on his entire life... as All Your Bad Days Will End plays, telling us about how after a bad day you can still dream of blowing your boss' head off and living on Mars... that was by far the best scene of that movie, the only time I really got into it and said "here's something that could work".

Some of those are good but "Kiss from a Rose" is the best! and Xenos i think Pop-songs can be good just as long as they can be quite memorable as "Kiss from a Rose" and i see your more into insturmental scores cause your just a Nolanite, i do liked the score in "Begins" but it was kinda forgettable and not that kind of memorable score like in "Batman ( 1989)" and "Batman Returns" or in "Batman: The Animated Series".

I agree.

The best version of the Batman theme by the way is the instrumental version by Link Ray and his Raymen

There was good R.E.M. track on the Batman and Robin soundtrack called "Revolution." It was pretty much the only good thing in Batman and Robin.

My favorite?

"Gotham City", for R. Kelly's glorious misunderstanding of what Gotham is like.

City of Justice
City of Love
City of Peace
For every one of us
We all need it
Can't live without it
A Gotham City
Oooh, yeah

When the kids' choir starts singing... It's just priceless. I laughed out loud the first time I heard it, and I still enjoy it to this day. The perfect cheesy song for the perfectly cheesy movie.

Im a huge fan of Seal so ive probably heard that sound hundreds of times and it never gets old (like most of his songs imo)i dont know if its truly reflective of the batman movie or batman himself since there was an ellegant darkness to it but for some reason it fit.
as for the person who called it an r&b song i think that term is way too limiting for Seal if you listen to any of his albums he mixes a lot of different genres in, he just happens to have a very soulfull voice.

I'd have to say 'main title', from Mask of the Phantasm, is the best opening.

Anyone else notice how "Kiss from A Rose" has almost the exact same tune as the "We Need A Hero to Save Us" from Spider-man?

"Love remained a drug that's the high, not the pill."

Say what?

Oh yeah, The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game by Massive Attack was also a good one.

Dammit. Now I gotta find the mp3 and crank it up. Mind you, I bought the CD and ripped it to mp3. It was a pain to find and yet such a wonderful soundtrack.

I always liked "Face to Face" by Siouxsie & the Banshees from Batman Returns.

Beat me to it. :) It was the only song in the movie, but that was all it needed since it was so good.

And I really like Prince's Batman soundtrack to the 1989 film. Well, not EVERY song, but I loved "Scandalous", and "The Future", though I don't think it was used in the film, seemed to be Bruce (or Batman) contemplating the current state of affairs of Gotham, which is one of the reasons why its a great opener to the soundtrack.

For Batman Forever, I only liked that U2 song and Method Man's "The Riddler".

For Batman and Robin, I like both Smashing Pumpkins songs.
