I picked up the Annhilation Nova Corps Files book and haven't been able to get an answer. Is it Star Dust? Does he not have one right now? If he doesn't have one, why not?

It's Silver Surfer, again.

Galactus just power boosted him in the same fashion he would initiating a new Herald, plus SS was the only one who helped him fight Aegis and Tenebrous.

ANNIHILATION: SILVER SURFER #1-4. #3-4, especially.

It was stardust until galactus sent him to tell the surfer he wanted to speak with him. SS#3 is when he agrees to become herald again and 4 is showing off the new power that galactus gave him.

Galactus amped Surfer's powers-put it this way, it took Firelord, Red Shift, and Stardust working in tandem to destroy one of Annihilus' ships. Surfer took out one of his fleets by himself after the amping.

Essentially, Galactus asked Surfer to return because of his rebellious nature-it is a war, and his other heralds are too loyal to him, and would not question his actions. So he amped up the Surfer's powers, and took away his doubt and restored his will for what must be done-although he left the guilt on Norrin's demand, as the guilt, he says, defines who he is.

I don't think its new powers but just that the power he had before was greatly increased. He destroyed a whole fleet of ships like was already mentioned and was toying with ravenous in their fight. Surfer blew up a planet just to show off the new power that he was given.

i DIDNT REALLY THINK IT WAS POSSIBLE FOR Surfer to git stronger.....Does he really needs this power?

And does Galuctus gives these powers off scientifically?

Also in a war wouldnt one want those who are loyal on their side?

That's the funny thing about powering up the Surfer... since he's basically a walking plot device as it is, the only way you can tell he was powered up is the text itself saying he was.

I didn't see him do anything I wouldn't have expected him capable of doing prior to the power up. He's destroyed entire planets in conflicts before. To me seeing him powered up is basically seeing how he SHOULD be written in the first place.

Great point. However, I could have sworn that Surfer got depowered a while back. I may be wrong though.

Galactus impliked that he did when he trapped him on Earth. He chose Surfer to be his new herald because he's always been the most intelligent/perceptive of the fold. It's like Kinshiro vs. Roa in FOTNS. Roa had more power, but Kenshiro had the proper perspective with which to wield it and be the worlds protector. Surfer has the perpective necessary to understand the significance of maintaining "cosmic consanence" whereas the it might've just gone the other heralds' heads. Surfer thoughtful like that, which is what led to his rebellion in the first place. Galactus like that about him but knew he needed a backbone as well so he inserted one. He was lost and now he's found.

Ah, I see. Okay, this may be totally off topic, but it just came to me. Considering how Galactus can empower just about anyone, why not just empower a bunch of heralds to go after Annihilus?

Galactus is purposeful. Creating a bunch of heralds just to fight one guy (although that's kind of what's happening) would be chaotic, and out of character. It would upset the cosmic consanance to just start handing out the PC like free samples in front of the chinese restaurant in the mall food court. In other words, I really don't know.

No it was a good question. Unfotuantely the best questions are the most unanswerable. ;)

I haven't read annihilation 3 so I don't know what happened but galactus didn't boost the surfers powers to fight annihilus. I don't think he was to concerned with annihilus at the time. He powered the surfer to help him fight aegis and tenebrous, two beings that were equal to himself.
