I was looking for images of the Golden Age Green Arrow (I hate the way the modern age one looks) and I found this site.

Scroll down to Archer of the World....
Who are those guys?

I don't know, but it ought to be Flecha Verde, not Verde Flecha, since in Spanish the adjective typically comes before the noun.

I found mention of him as being a member of the "Green Arrows of the World". Sounds like it's a Silver Age story, similar to the "Batmen of Many Nations" stories appearing in Batman.

Why is Bowman of the Bush a white guy then?

I mean, I didn't think there were white bushmen in Africa... are there?

*Reality thrown into question*

Hey! The story was by Jack Kirby and was reprinted in a trade collecting his Green Arrow stories!

Here's the issue synopsis:

Adventure Comics 250: The Green Arrows of the World
Green Arrow and Speedy hosted a convention of masked archers from around the world. The British GA was trapped and stripped - "Counterfeit" Carson took his costume and prepared to settle a score with the American Green Arrow. Inside the convention, Carson was quickly noticed and made a break for it. The tires on the car he attempted to use were shot out. GA was able to capture him in a crowd using mirrors and a ricochet arrow.

Well it was 1958. All jungle heroes were white, like B'wana Beast.

The story was also collected recently in the Showcase Presents: Green Arrow book, but in black and white in this case. That one was a nice story, it was about a convention of Green Arrows from around the world, and it went as dumb and as charming as it sounds.

Ah. I doubt that Kirby could speak Spanish.

While he probably couldn't, Kirby was just the artist, not the writer anyway.

Some of the archers have an interesting look. I might just pick this up.

The english langiuage tends to invert the order of the words from latin languages.

It should be Flecha Verde of Mexico, not Verde Flecha.

Bad, but I´ve seen worse.
I mean, a portuguese mercenary called "Edson Jarzinho".(in the Marvel series "Inhumans")?

What next, a german colonel called Hsui Nobunaga? :D
