...doesn't this writing style for a new comics company seem a little familiar?

Quick someone alert Rich Johnson that Mark Allessi may have moved to the Big Apple. I'm seeing another Lying in the Gutters exclusive here.

Then again it'd be nice to see Negation War 3. Maybe Macquarrie could write it and J-bolt can draw it?

Wow. No kiddin'.

Will TightLip comics be sold at Kum-n-Go?

(which, heaven help us, is a real convenience-store chain in Oklahoma. Sigh!)

Those ghostly voices in your head tell you strange, strange things, Gail.

Now put the hedge trimmer and the gerbil down and back away from Scott.

All I'm saying is that the dirty minds of Super Sonic and Lester have nothing on the dirty minds of Gail, Kris and Larry.

I'm still trying to figure out what "dedicated to bringing the world of comic-book entertainment to the world beyond the present day normal" means. They're gonna bring comics to Narnia?

Well they could do with some.

I took that as meaning as diving into mainstrem genres that superhero comics normally don't cover. Crossgen for instance had a Victorian Dective comic, Science Fiction Space Opera Comic, a Samurai Comic, etc.

I'm still trying to figure out what "dedicated to bringing the world of comic-book entertainment to the world beyond the present day normal" means.Maybe it means a world where there's no "self greed".

Just selfless greed, I guess.

Selfless greed, that's me.

I'm greedy not for myself but to keep others from falling into the pit traps of being wealthy.

I want to know why the Freedom 3 webpage has a big entry on the Marine Corps Code of Conduct and nothing about what the comic's about, who's doing it, and why I should want to buy it.

I decided to past the grand message here. Tightlip is gonna make us all learn how bad self-greed is. Fuckin A.

Welcome to TightLip Entertainment

"In a world where mankind has placed self greed and material worth over morality and justice -- The entertaining values of TightLip exist to point and guide your imagination to reality."

~ Rick Olney, Editor-in-Chief, TightLip Entertainment

We're a small, yet multi-faceted entertainment company, based in upstate New York that is dedicated to bringing the world of comic-book entertainment to the world beyond the present day normal. Sure, as comic fans, we all love reading and collecting comic-books, it goes without saying, right? Sure it does!

But there is an entire world of non-comic reading people out there that would enjoy a comic-book if they only knew they existed. Well, TightLip Entertainment is in that business! We expose the un-exposed! There are plenty of people that don't read comic books. We believe if people gave comic books a read they would enjoy this storytelling medium. Well, that's the goal of TightLip Entertainment! To expose those unfortunate people to the pleasures of comic book reading. To denounce the myth that comic books are only for kids and show the world comic books are for all to enjoy! And we're educating the misinformed readers to that fact everyday.

Be it superheroes, fantasy, all-ages, horror, sci-fi, action-adventure, western, etc. and yes, even small press and mini-comix, we intend to cover every genre out there to reach as many readers as possible. How do we achieve this? By partnering with individual creators who have a heart, and believe me... we mean heart, for each of their own particular genre properties. We pledge that every comic-book created and published by TightLip represents quality product, sparkling effort, and outstanding storytelling in both written and artistic expression. Our end goal is to be a publishing company with a diversity that will be unmatched in the comic -book reading world.

If you are a comic fan, and you have friends who are not, but they like movies or books of a certain genre, hopefully you will find something at TightLip Entertainment that you can share with them. We also pledge to bring new readers into the hobby of buying and reading comic-books.

Please take a look around and let us know how you like TightLip comics. Visit our online store, message board forums, and gallery. Thank you!

I browsed the site and all. The art looks nice for " Monster Squad " . I don't think the sites been updated since May anyhow. Check out the forums....thats where it gets fun.

Its like all these generic names all post the same thing for pages on end. " Great site " , " Nice Design " , " Great Work" . Someone posts a serious topic like Illegal Immigration and the entire thread becomes " Great Work , Nice Site , ect ect .."

Oh Jesus, Rick Olney... that brings back bad memories.

His comics will make "Liberality for All" look like "Watchmen".

He used to post over at MW. Maybe here, too. I suppose I shouldn't talk too much about someone not here to defend himself... but he is a "public figure" in the world of comics publishing now, I guess.

I'll just say this: He seems to have very sincere and decent intentions towards raising interest in comics as a medium and in promoting literacy. That said, Charlton Heston thinks Olney's views on guns are extreme.

Isn't he the also the guy who keeps cancelling conventions?

Didn't he just cancel the Mighty Mini-Con because he never even booked a venue?
