I have several definite orders ready, but like every month several picks become questionable. I enjoy experimenting with my selections, but thanks to the collector's enemy, the budget, only so much can be obtained. These are some books that seem rather interesting, and I'm wondering if they would be worth picking up.
Dark Horse
Alice in Sunderland: The write up on this intrigues me, but thirty dollars. Ouch.
DC Comics
Showcase Presents: The Brave and the Bold – The Batman Team-Ups Vol. 1 TP.: I wouldn’t mind reading these, but I try to hold back on the Showcase Presents line, partly because of the black and white, though I don’t mind it on my independents.
Image Comics
Spawn/Batman: Inner Demons: I’ll most likely bend and get it, but I’m just not up for one of these crossovers right now.
The Portent Volume 1 Tp: Any feedback for this? Anyone?
Archaia Studios Press
Okko: Cycle of Water #1: A bit tired of all things Japan in this media, but it could be good.
Last Gasp
Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms GN: This book looks beautiful, but I’m still iffy.
Markosia
Golly #1: I’m a big fan of all things Phil Hester, both writing and art, but the apocalypse bit is getting old, though having circus freaks handle it is a new twist.
Rebellion
XTNCT HC: I like D’Israeli’s art. Simple premise. Worth it? I don’t know.
Squid Works
The Want: Who’s Your Daddy: An offbeat story, the kind I like. Never heard of its creator Stan Yan. Worth ten bucks?
Thrill House
Shark-Man #1: Director’s Cut
Shark-Man #2: Anyone read the first issue? Much praise has been written for it, but word of mouth is the only kind I trust.
And I'd love to get the EC Archive hardcovers coming out, but fifty bucks a pop is too much for me. Unless it's a slow month.
