This is my first "Thread Starter." I hope I get it right. :)

Mike Carey was recently interviewed by Forbidden Planet regarding all his current projects. One thing he mentioned was his Beast Mythos project:

I’m retelling the origin of the Beast – one of my favourite X-Men – for the Mythos series.

Mike had mentioned earlier that he would be writing a mini series about one if his favorite X-Men and that it wasn't Rogue or Cyclops. Now we know! :D I have to say this should be good. I really like MC's Beast and wish he was a permanent member of the Rogue's team.

Here's a link to the full interview. Mike sure has a lot on his plate!!

Sorry!!! I just new I would mess it up! I put the link there now. He talks about Beast towards the end. Mike has stated his favorite X-Men are Rogue, Cyclops and Beast! I think he will do a great job! :D

Makes me wonder why Marvel gave this the go-ahead. The "Mythos" projects are pretty big deals. Sounds like Marvel's readying a major push for the character again. My guess... Either Hank's going to get reverted to his Apeman form and they want to retell his origins into that form. Or he's going to be rejoining the Avengers. I'll take both, please and thank you. Beast and Wonder Man 4 Life!!

Heck no! It's Cat Beast or nothing, my friend! This is what I think about Ape Beast at the moment - :p

Well... hate to tell you, the majority of the fanbase, Joey Q, Bendis, and Frank Cho prefer the Ape. ;)

As well as most of the writers, artists, etc. who work at Marvel. :D

Beast and Wonder Man 4 Life!!

Truer words have never been spoken. One of Marvel's finest and most endearing friendships, and one that needs to be revisited soon.

Could Hank in his ape form taken out Danger and fought Wolverine to a draw? I don't think so! ;)

Let's hope not. Other than his UFF/UXM 2-Parter, I've enjoyed his work so far. :D

I'm all for that. That was one of my favorite things about the Avengers, long before I ever knew Beast was an X-Man. As for the ape-beast, if they can put Simon back in his red jacket, they can do Hank the same favor. :)

Thank you William! ;)

Yeah, it's great that Mike has so many things going on. It looks like he just optioned the right for his Castor novels. They may make it a TV series. Hope so, but it will take forever before we yanks get to see it if it happens.

I asked him about which Beast we will see in the Mythos book. Hopefull he can say. (I am anti-Kitty-Beast). I still love Hank though. :D

If it's Beast's origins recounted, it would likely be Human and Apeman, with maybe a small appearance by Kitty Beast. Perhaps as the storyteller. Maybe M.K. should write it in 'Memoires' form. :)

Mike posted a little more info about the Beast Mythos at his blog:

Jennifer - yeah, this will be the original, human Beast. I’m glad you like the way Hank comes across in XM: he’s a great character to write. This is a retelling of the origin story that appeared as a back-up feature in X-Men [first run] #49-53.

I'm amazed at how many books Mike is able to write at the same time. I mean, I'll never know where does he get the time to answer our questions in his site!

Yet it's almost as if they have no control over cat Beast anymore. It's become a sentient entity!
