I'm playing both and really enjoying them. They both attempt to do different things with the genre and end up being very fun. Silmeria looks beautiful, definitely one of the best on PS2 in that department. And, of course, having a full fledged RPG in my pocket can't be beat. Anyone else check these games out?

Yup. Lenneth is a remake of the original VP with some additional cut scenes to tie into VP: Silmeria. And some of the VP characters appear in an epilogue to build up to Silmeria.

Silmeria itself is a "prequel" and is very good so far.

I'm a big VP fan.

I too love the ps1 version of VP. As a side note had I known that all of my snes and playstation 1 rpgs would be worth so much money I would have taken better care of them.

I just beat the game and I loved it. That said I think fans that still remember the original game are going to riot at how this game storyline changes the storyline for part one. I don't want to spoil it but let's just say there could be a blacklash.

I'm playing through Silmeria right now. I'm having fun with it but to be honest, the story so far is pretty boring. "The dragon orb's in another ruin" "The dragon orb's in another ruin" "The dragon orb's in another ruin" "The dragon orb's in another ruin" "The dragon orb's in another ruin" "The dragon orb's in another ruin". I heard that the story picks up soon, but after 13 hours it should've been going by now.

Have you given thoughts to trying the Shin Megami series of games? If the tradional rpg fare isn't for you than that entire series is going to rock your world. For my money the Shin games are much better than the Final Fantasy games.

Those games look interesting but I've never actually played one. I'll probably check out the one that just came out as soon as I finish the games I'm going through now
