...in the next year? No more than a year. You have twelve months, what would you like to accomplish in that amount of time to be happier and more fulfilled?

Other than that...not fuck up too much? :D

It sounds sappy but I'd like to become a better husband and father. I can see areas in both that I really need to improve on.

For personal fulfillment, I would love to get one of the mini-series I'm working with off the ground with a publisher.

Work on one or two of the script ideas my buddy and I have.

Pay off some debt. (new house, new truck, credit cards, student loans).

Be tied with Howy on post counts (readies tranquilizer gun).

Brian Johnson, Martin Bower, John Dykstra, Greg Jein, and a handful of others were my special effects heroes growing up, and still are. I got to sit in at Jim Key's model shop in Hollywood once, and helped restore some Galactica miniatures & stuff. That was very cool. So doing a studio scale model like the big boys do for the big screen is one of those personal-accomplishment things.

It's just been pushed back again and again for years.

that is really cool.

I used to create models when I was a kid to look like the galactica. They would be these hug weird looking spaceships of boxes and cardboard tubes glued together with whatever odds and ends I could glue onto them, trying to get the details of the galactica miniature. They looked like crap though.

Hmm.. I seem to have some similar ideas as some in this thread.

I want to make a damn comic, hopefully with a friend. Wait, first I need to WRITE a damn comic or two or more. Quit just leaving ideas around and playing with them. I need to writ a script.

If a friend then can make it into a comic, awesome. Though I also want to help a friend or two with writing duties on their web comic or potential web comic. I've got one with an already running one, but due to baiscally buidling an apartment in his home, it's been on haitus.

On a slightly more personal note, I need to also write to an ex. I somewhat don't care if she's seeing someone or not interested in getting together again. I just need to hear from her because I've just been torturing myself staying out of contact and not even trying to contact her.

find somebody that I can love and love back, and buy a house.

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn... is just to love and be loved in return. "

I wanna' get this chick I work with and my girlfriend in the sack at the same time. That'd be awesome.

Or be loved in return by two chicks at once... giggity.

Sigh. Well. So much for romance. Love is over. Game over, man. Game over.

edit: Oh yeah. How can I forget? I'm helping my parents totally clean up the damn house. I'm just sick of living in a mess. I don't care if I have to sort through my dad's junk mail from the 80s (which I have done some). I want my things in order. Of course, this also means packing away old toys and figures. This means getting rid of old clothes. This means putting up shevles. This means finding a place for all my comics which still gets added to every week.

On a shorter scale, this weekend I need to finally get about 5 months of comics sorted into proper boxes. They're all in proper piles by title, group, and compnay. They just need to be put away. Also, some need to be bagged and boarded.

I really suck at making plans or having goals. I tend to take life as it comes. Everything I've ever acheived or accomplished has been part of somebody else's plans.

I'd like to finish the projects that I have open right now, then maybe find some interesting things to replace them with.

Current projects:
Raising three kids.
Maintaining a marriage of almost 21 years (anniversary in 3 weeks!)
Restoring a 99-year-old house.
Restoring a 1983 Jeep Wagoneer in very bad shape (but it runs).
Designing a couple of websites.
Maintaining a few more.
Drawing a story for the YABS comic and/or wherever Tom wants to put it.
Developing a couple of comic ideas of my own.
Helping to develop Broken Heart Robot as a TV cartoon series.
Serving on the board of my church.
Coaching archery and developing a competitive youth team.
Taking a storyboarding class through the animators' union.
And a few others I can't think of at the moment.

My one goal for the future is to find a way to quit my day job. It's boring.

Hee hee. I am already on doctor's orders eating moire salty foods. Seriously. I'm taking a mild diuretic, which has the effect of lowering my sodium levels, and I have to replace what I've lost. Dark chocolate is good for several of those, having sugar, caffeine, and cocoa in it.
