CBR Rule #11. Don't start a thread with just a link to an article. Add some commentary of your own. There's no set limit, just add something of substance besides just a link - three sentences is a good start. I will make an exception if it is just a "wacky" news story posted to amuse people, not to spark any discussion.

well most of my life i was indifferent to the subject at hand (well until high school and college anyway).it was just never a big deal in my family growing up,so i was oblivious about it for the most part.so it was kinda weird the first time i encountered this problem circa my high school years.in hindsight i had seen this issue brought up in subtle ways during middle school.but i just brushed it off as stupidity, and typical tweener name calling.in that context i didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary.but most people, specificly girls seemed to be really bothered by it though.

Oh look, teen girls are self-involved, worry about their identities, and get suckered by conventions.
And it's true for black teen girls too!
