(inspired by some older threads abuot this stuff)

It's 1975. Giant Size X-Men 1 has just come out and everyone loves it. Instantly Hollywood jumps at the chance to make a movie out of the property, using all the best talent.

So, who get's cast. Remember, it's 1975. Who could play the X-Men from that era, during that era? Who would you want to direct?

X-Men 1975, Director Lewis Gilbert

Professor X ~ Telly Savalas

Cylops ~ Robbie Benson

Marvel Girl ~ Glynis O'Connor

Beast ~ Randy Quaid

Iceman ~ Bud Cort

Angel ~ John Savage

Storm ~ Pam Grier

Colossus ~ Richard Kiel

Nightcrawler ~ Al Pacino

Thunderbird ~ August Schellenberg

Count Nafaria ~ Omar Sharif

I'd blend the "living island" story with Count Nefaria's, largely because of SFX abilities pre-"Star Wars," and because the death of Thunderbird gives it the edge that 70's films had. I can't recall the various Ani-Men now, but if someone can supply the info, I'll adjust accordingly. There are a few characters I've left out, as the constraints of a film require.

Here's some of my ideas.

X-Men- Directed by Richard Donner

Cyclops- Richard Hatch
Wolverine- Lee Majors
Collossus- Arnold Scwartzenegger
Angel- Shaun Cassidy
Marvel Girl- Pamela Sue Martin (TV's Nancy Drew)

Storm-Pam Grier is PERFECT, and I love young Pacino as Nightcrawler

Charles Bronson as Wolverine
Lee Marvin as Prof. Xavier

Angel- Shaun Cassidy

Shaun Cassidy should play Banshee. ;)

I haven't figured out all the casting, but here are some picks:

Wolverine: Clint Eastwood
Jean Grey: Peggy Lipton
Banshee: Kirk Douglas
Thunderbird: Wes Studi
Sunfire: Yakusho Koji
Beast: Michael Miller (played Monk Mayfair in the Doc Savage movie)

I think that Ontir's idea of including the Nefaria storyline is great, and I can't think of a better Nefaria than Omar Sharif.

You guys are forgetting: At this point, the Batman TV series and movie are in fresh memory, and Donner's Superman is two years hence.

Therefore, four little words that will chill your soul:

Adam West as Wolverine.
