View Full Version : New "Mutant Massacre!"

"Think of the headlines, Colossus-- "Muties Massacre helpless patients," We'd never live that down." -Nightcrawler, Uncanny X-men 200.

Is the timing right for a new "Mutant Massacre"?

Should the storyline be re-visited? Perhaps a sequel, and if so, who should write it?

How should it be done?

Several recent Marauder appearances... An unresolved "Civil War"... M-Day... And where is, Sinister?

Personally, I'm all for it! I'll type a detailed post tonight when I get back from work explaining why.

I'd definitely like to discuss ALL aspects of this topic as I'm VERY interested in learning the opinions of several of the members on these boards.

There was already a Mutant Massacre recently. It was called "The House of M".

Yes, let's kill off yet more mutants. We haven't had enough of that as of late.

Damn bloodthirsty fanboys. There have already been around 50 deaths alone in the X-Books. Leave it be!

Wasn't the whole Mega Sentinel wipes out Genosha thing already a mutant massascre?
I mean who still cares about a few hundred dead Morlocks if there are 16 million dead Genosha mutants?

So i think they had enough MM in the recent time.

Have you been reading New X-Men? That's a mutant massacre if I ever saw one.

No, as much as I loved Mutant Massacre back in the day, I don't want to see more mutant deaths at this point. There have been too many already.

Mutant Massacre was cool.

But enough mutant deaths have occurred lately.

It'd totally be overkill to do Mutant Massacre II right now.

Agreed. At the time it was cool and edgy because stuff like that was new in comics. Right now considering the current tone of comics, something lighthearted and non-angsty would be equally shocking. ;)

If it means being rid of lame characters like Mammomax, the Leifeld characters, and David Hine's silly creations, then I'm all for it.

Last time the Mutant Massacre got revisited (in Uncanny X-Men #350), it effed up the original storyline. Time for a new story idea. :)

Can I get a big No, No, and No for another Massacre.

It had its own time, yes, but repeating it would take away some of its greatness

Personally ...I would be happy if there were only about 75 mutants left in the world.

But...Phantazia was created by Liefeld. :(

Another mutant Massacre would be about it for the X-books. Prehaps after 'Wanda ruins everything' is undone.

Don't hate me, babe, but I absolutely do not see her appeal. She's like less appealing to me than even Mammomax, but I love you!

We already had a second Mutant Massacre.

I think what happened to the Mutants of Genosha qualifies.

Yeah, but that story compared to ramifications and emotional connections to the original. Read the trade of the original, and then read this. Not even close.

I think they should blow up a bus full of teenaged mutants. Preferably new characters with lots of potential but little history.

Oh? They did?

Well then I'm happy.

"New Mutant" massacre? I thought they already did that in the last ten issues of New X-Men?

It wouldn't be fun.

Deaths have become eye roll inducing jokes and don't even blame it on ressurections. ;) Frankly, everytime a character is solicited to die its a little irritating and blah.

Genosha/ Muir Island/ Scarlet Witch gone bananas/ every issue of New X-Men (seriously, WHO CARES about those kids? Will they ever LIVE to become X-Men? We don't even care about the original New Muties nor Gen-X... why would Marvel expect us to give a shit about yet another new group of mutant F-Listers?)
& STILL, more mutants are being killed off when lazy writers want their stories to have dramatic "impact". Which is bloody ironic since they can ALL COME TO LIFE again with the next writer. WHuWHAT IMPACT?!?!? WHAT DRAMA?!?!

Yeah, I am another who says HELL NO! I have seen enough massacres in the last few years. They have already killed too many mutants! Another Mutant Massacre would be just too much!

Well in X-men Civil war half of the remaining mutants could be blown away anyway depending upon the outcome of the bomb in the bunker.I meen if they die we could cull mutants down to a remaining 50 or so with a mutant masscre.I don't think we have enough mutants left for a masscre.I think the number needs to be about 500 worldwide, then maybe we can have a big slaughter .Till then there are just to few for it to be entertaining
