Marvel's cosmic characters won’t be disappearing from comic stores after “Annihilation” concludes in January, as a number of these characters will be appearing in spin-off books that launch in the aftermath of “Annihilation.” CBR News spoke with Editor Andy Schmidt about these books.

So apparently they aren't even trying to keep Super-Skrulls ressurection under wraps. Oh well. Super-Skrulls the man.
I'm calling it right now. Quantum bands on Ronan. And Super-Skrull being rezzed via some infusion of Comic Energy (compatable due to the fact that he has the power of the FF which were given by Cosmic Radiation).
Oh and Cammi will be the new Nova. :D

Christos Gage on QUASAR, set after ANNIHILATION? Interesting.

Cammi is neither going to be the new Nova or Quasar. I'm sudden she's going to star in something.

"Not sure how to answer that question without spoiling some of the Annihilation stuff. No, it's not Frankie Raye. It's a Nova Corps Nova Centurion we're focusing on, but it may or may not be Rich. Oh, all right, it's Rich," Dan Abnett told Newsarama.
And, between Quasar's habit of dying and coming back periodically and that sarcastic-sounding "death is for real" line, I'm hoping it's WV. And that Cammi ends up bug's soup.
Oh, and, per Giffen (http://www.comicboards.com/surfer/view.php?rpl=060811144440), it's the one-shot with Silver Surfer (Heralds: Silver Surfer/Stardust it seems to be called now) "that will wrap up Aegis and Tenebrous and, yes, Skreet as well"

WIth the outstanding (so far) return of Marvel COsmic and the coming of the NEw Universal! Marvel is fun again !!! Now all that needs to happen is the true return of Wendell Vaughn or all my interest will unfortunately be tainted and my interest wained :(
He is my hero and without him there is no light in the universe!

Cristos Gage on Quasar, eh?
I can dig that.
Again, it has to be WV or my enthusiasm will be diminished. . .

Hm. Both Runaways and Young Avengers have Skrull-linked characters in them. Wonder if either book will notice the destruction of the Skrull empire (as neither character is particularly in contact at the moment, 'no' doesn't require much suspension of disbelief, but yes is a possibility).

Well if Rich Rider doesn't survive to be in the new Monthly , then who will take up the baton? One things is certain; the character will be a "he" and not a "She" so I hope that rules Cammi out of the picture.
Although Richard will always be considered to be the definitiive Nova and rightly so by Nova fans and I hope he does survive as his chracter has recently undergone so much re-emphasis and defining making him into a true A-Grade Cosmic hero..it would be a crime that his continuing development is cut-short in favour of cheap melodrama.
Why take time building up a character to simply destroy it? Makes no creative sense at all. I probably speak for many Nova fans who wish to see Richard's reactions to Civil War as well as endeavour to carve out a career as a cosmic law enforcer post Annhiliation. But if by end of Annhiliation, and the baton is passed, who would you like to see take on the role. Presently I lean towards Peter Quill, the former Starlord. A fellow Terran who would, with careful crafting at the hands of D and A ensure Richard's legacy was carried on. But till 2007 comes, and we reach the end of the present series, it's simply a means of waiting and hoping. The plans are there, the formula that Andy mentions in his interview would make this probably the best Nova Monthly since issue 1 of the original1975/6 series. I hope to god it is Richard, but even if another takes up the mantle I would buy it to give it a chance.
However I hope though Marvel, Joe Q, Dan and the 2 Andy's take stock of any fears fans may express if Richard is replaced. Having seen the feelings expressed in the CBR Annhiliation forums over Quazar's death, I'm sure if Rich does "pardon the pun" kick the Bucket, there will be a lot of anger and annoyance. Even more so as this, 2006 is the character's 30th anniversary. A new series, with the continuing adventures of a more mature, focused Richard Rider would sell, and sell well. Annhiition Nova mini proved that in spades.
Please, Andy Schmidt make sure the creative minds for the Nova series make the right choice. The fans remember ultimately pay their cents (or pounds in my case here in the UK) to buy the books, make sure they stay in the top 100 of the Comic Sales lists, etc. Disappoint a fan-base too much and the very readers who are either long-term Nova fans, or those that have jumped on to the bandwagon and discovered the chracter, and others since reading Annhiliation, and the minis, may end up deserting and that would be ultimately a shame for all concerned. I wait with anticipation as 2006 closes to the end. I hope 2007 will be the dawn of a new era for a chracter who deserves to shine at long last.

Don't worry about NOVA - the guy writing it was interviewed on Newsarama and said definitively he's excited to write Richard's story in space. It's Wendell we should all be praying for..... :)
Cristos Gage on Quasar, eh?

I'm excited about this, but it's WV that makes Quasar the character he is. I'm interested in seeing more of his evolution from what we saw in Annihilation and after. I won't buy a Q-Ball book without WV as Quasar. I typically try not to speak in absolutes about these things (especially with the comics hobby), but really... if it aint Wendell I aint wastin my time.
I will say though, that I have a degree of faith in Andy that I haven't had in a Marvel editor in a long period of time.
