[The Purple Skull]

A mysterious time rift has brought together 20 unique individuals to an isolated, undisclosed area:

Out of nowhere, the one who has brought them together appears. It is the Beyonder! The Beyonder has informed them that there is a group among their number called the Suicide Squad who has agreed to eliminate everybody. If they are successful, then they will receive unimaginable power.

The Beyonder lets the group know that their mission is to scope out the traitors and banish them into Limbo. Also, the Beyonder informs everyone that there are two people in the group who are working undercover for SHIELD and will assist in trying to find the traitor without revealing themselves.

Hours pass, and the Suicide Squad strikes! The body of Ashen-Shugar is found. No head, no arms, no legs. Just the torso!

The game begins who are the Suicide Squad? Remember there are now 3 traitors in this game.

Deducing from the clues presented (body devoid of limbs), one has to ask themself the obvious question, "Who benefits?" Well, first we have to figure out the answer. What would anyone benefit from murdering Ashen-Shugar this way? What were they after? Seems to me the killer[s] have a need for body parts. So, let's examine all the suspects.

I'll start off by removing myself as a suspect because I'm Batman. I don't kill, and even if I did, it wouldn't be as gruesome as this unless Jon Peters were producing my adventures.

Now lets' move on. Right off you're inclined to say Apocalypse, Deadpool, Punisher, Wolverine, Crossbones or Grant Morrison are the killers because they seem like obvious choices, and that's exactly why none of them did it. There would be nothing for them to gain. Yes, the Beyonder has promised unimaginable power, but none of them need it. Morrison already has a great deal of power in his contract; Wolverine would only hurt his PG-13 spin-off film by committing such an act; Punisher, Deadpool and Crossbones aren't interested in power and Jesse Custer already has the "Word of God". Apocalypse, though he craves power, would scoff at the idea of doing someone else's dirty work.

We can also remove Jonah Hex because it's too easy to think he'd take off someone's head because of his own facial insecurities. As far as the Question goes - he has a real face under his mask so he wouldn't be jealous of someone who has one. I'm also ruling out Lenny the Fly Funk Snatcher simply because I've never heard of him. That leaves us with:

For round one, I will focus on one man on that list - Luke Skywalker. He has a legit motive (possibly jealousy/envy issues steming from the fact that he's forced to use a prostetic) and the means to make it happen (Lightsabres are routinely used (by Jedi and Sith) to slice off limbs. When it does, it also cauterizes the wound. So my first suspect is Luke Skywalker.

I know I have gone to extremes in order to achieve a greater goal and it would be easy to point the finger at me; but as the leader of Providence and the widley recognized "Savior" I fight for the perfect society, a society constructed to prevent such acts as these and I assure you all it was not me.

Look at the facts, it's obvious when you take a look at track records--Apocalypse is clearly involved. I believe if we can take down Apocalypse then the other two involved will surface.

I know nothing about the deceased, but it should be safe to assume that this Ashen-Shugar was a powerful being since he was taken first. I would have gladly let him live in order to learn his usefulness!

If there are still 3 traitors when we get down to the final four, then they automatically kill the last person and win.

Same applies for if there are 2 traitors in the final 3 and if there is 1 traitor in the final 2.

I know nothing about the deceased, but it should be safe to assume that this Ashen-Shugar was a powerful being since he was taken first. I would have gladly let him live in order to learn his usefulness!


Yes Apocalypse, but the problem is your definition of "greater good" is completely different than mine and everyone else’s for that matter. You say you consider the greater good of mutant and mankind? Since when have you shown an ounce of concern for mankind? At one point you had the human population as slaves. You are not only willing to throw human lives away but you're more than willing to kill your own without giving it any though. To me, someone so willing to dispose lives even the lives he's apparently "fighting for" is obviously guilty.

And so Wolverine was wrongfully accused and sent to Limbo. The Squad is still at full strength. I'm currently waiting for one of them to send me their next kill.

Any fool can see that it is, in fact, THE PUNISHER, Morrison thought to himself. It's certainly not who he would have written to do it, but alas. In this realm, there was no Chief, no Xorn, no Luthor, no Skeets, to blame. Grant chuckled as he pictured Matter Eater lad killing someone. Just desserts?

Grant stopped gazing at the colorful rainbows, asteroids and bizarre creatures on the new planet. Putting aside his notepad, within which he sketched several new concepts for the sequel to 52, called 365, along with a systematic retooling of each character within the entire Marvel Universe, Morrison walked towards the scene of the crime. What was Animal Man thinking last week anyway, Grant thought. This was all new to him too.

Grant strode over to the mess that used to be Jonah Hex. The bullet-ridden body lay among a pool of blood, and Grant sighed as yet another character who had so much possibility had yet again been wasted. Maybe he could be ressurrected in Eight Solders. Note to self, he thought, call Dan Didio.

Okay, I'm not a detective, so I'm just going to state the obvious. Dude was shot. Anyone in here walking around with any guns? Punisher, maybe?

A hail of bullets. That rules out Batman, for one. And while Apocalypse, Starman, Spider-man, Ant-man, and Matter-Eater Lad could possibly use guns, its not their MO. Speculation into the perpetrator's capacity to use guns as a means of manipulating all of us will almost certainly be fruitless until more clues develop. As such, taking the nature of the crime at face value, the prime suspects are:

Deadpool
Punisher
Cable
Crossbones

Of those, Cable seems the least likely. While he might have transformed into a psychotic murder unbeknownst to us all, given that the list contains 3 known psychotic murderers, he's hardly the most probably suspect.

Of the 3 remaining, Crossbones seems to be the most likely. The nature of the beheading requires a measure of both severely twisted brutality, and the sort of mind that commits those acts merely to intimidate or send a message. Punisher has no compulsions about murder, but seems unlikely to spend much time mutilating corpses. The sick sociopathic behavior could fit Deadpool, but he's rarely this calculating.

This is the third round in a row that Luke has attempted to recruit others to eliminate me and not once has he given thought to anyone else. Sounds like he's getting a bit paranoid. At least I've tried to give valid reasons for my choices and so far, I've been proven correct. Neither Wolverine, Punisher, Jonah Hex nor Grant Morrison were involved. I gave everyone that info in my very first post and before anyone suggest it - no, it's not because I'm involved, but because I'm the Goddamn Batman, the World's Greatest Detective. ;)

So, again, let's narrow it down. We have:

Apocalypse, Deadpool, Starman, Jesse Custer, Matter-Eater Lad, Spider-Man, Ant Man, Lenny, Monica, The Question, Black Panther, Luke Skywalker, Cable, Crossbones and myself.

It's not me and for some odd reason, I do not believe Apocalypse or Deadpool are involved, on the contrary, but my instinct tells me one of them is a SHIELD agent. Perhaps I'm wrong; only time will tell.

With the exception of Crossbones, the rest have been very quiet in posting, which is very suspcious behavior indeed. As much as I feel Luke is involved, my investigation has lead me to...

After some fact-checking, I've confirmed that Monica was on the site today and didn't bother to post in this thread. You'd think she'd want to help us as she could, but apparently she can't be bothered. That's certainly the cavalier attitude of someone who's not concerned with discovering the identities of the killers because they're one of them. That's my vote.

Grant was a popular choice as a Suicide Squad member. Removing someone from play who was likely to be voted off in the near future anyway seems like a poorly calculated move. Or a completely random one.

The nature of these deaths is beginning to reveal a patten. Sword-wielding Ashen-Shugar was dismembered, Gunslinging Jonah Hex brought down by gunfire, the writer Grant Morrison killed by a pen. Their weapons of choice are being turned against them. Whoever is doing this has an appreciation for irony that supercedes pure pragmatism.

Moreover, whoever is committing these murders has a capacity to move quickly and in an unseen manner, being able to down Jonah Hex almost immediately after Wolverine was sent to Limbo, then somehow ambushing Grant so as to be able to kill him with his own pen without us hearing anything.

Twisted, totally random, lover of irony and can seemingly move as though they were teleporting?

Although I may be the type to manipulate others to suit my means, I am not doing so here. I know very little about those deceased. How would I know if they are not fit? That would be my only reason for killing them. I would have to deem them unworthy to live. Only in that one instance, a crazed lapse in judgment, did I manipulate others for personal gain.

This must be a conspiracy and this whole "game" must run much deeper than we can imagine. We were all set up to believe it was Wade. Look at how all the killings happened they all point to Wade. We are being manipulated. Each time the evidence has clearly pointed to one perpetrator, said person has been innocent and we've lost an ally. Of the remaining members, only myself and Apocalypse possess the intellectual acumen to pull something like this off. The Beyonder has prevented myself from escaping. I tried leaving once as a test. I wouldn't want to leave, considering how this game works. However, I can still bring things in, things that can restore your sight. However, considering your current stance and that I have little time remaining, you will not get your chance.

My arguments have fallen on deaf ears. Maybe I can test the fitness of those in Limbo...
