it's just left more questions in my opinion. only one member of the cast (in the preview) is Canadian. well i see Talisman. does that mean that Guardian is a non-Canadian?

Zut alors? man, i thought Batroc was getting a miniseries, or something. And why do we need a Thor clone when we have beta ray bill?

No, he's better.
Did Kolins not get the memo on Bill's new costume?

I was born and raised in Toronto, so I still find myself saying "Zut alors!" and "Quelle domage" quite a lot.

I really hope the book is Canadian. The inclusion of Beta Ray Bill and U.S. Agent (if that ain't Cap) makes me feel like this is less "Omega Flight" and more "Mike Oeming's Dream team of Characters."
I've never read much alpha flight, but I liked the characters of Box and Puck. I like Beta Ray Bill, so I'll watch this one with some interest.

I think they shouldn`t have used an iconic image with a character so much identified with America as a patriotic hero such as US Agent being on the team. It`s too much hitting people over the head with the idea that it`s a US-Canadian alliance.
What are the ideal Americans that should have been the core of this new Canadian group?
Ben Grimm/The Thing
Hawkeye
Beta Ray Bill(well he`s not American but not a Canuck either)
Because both Ben and Clint have this blue collar back-against-the-World underdog quality that`s usualy associated with Canada. Ben is the ideal mix of Wolverine, Sasquatch and Puck. He was the attitude guy way before Wolverine was cool and provide the personality of Puck with the powerhouse element of Sasquatch(since every teams needs one). Plus, he`s such a perfect Scott Kolins type-of character visualy. There`s also a very good reason for him to join, he`s fed up with the whole Civil War thing, moves to Canada. He set up shop there and decide to form his own gang with Hawkeye. Of course he broods for a while, then meets Clint and that`s the start of a beautiful friendship.
Hawkeye is perfect because he`s got the Wolvie "screw the system" attitude, and as an archer he has the amerindian element there(wich could be further explored). Being a character that`s coming from the dead like that, you imagine the excitement tied to that, ultimately helping he book in term of sales. And character-wise that`s somebody that went and form the West Coast Avengers when he couldn`t lead the East Coast branch. Formed the upstart Great Lake Avengers because of the same reasons and liked the challenge. And then did the same with the Thunderbolts. Hawkeye likes challenges like this and would be the type to form an outlaw, renegade group like the Omega Flight.
Having The Thing and Hawkeye on the team would make the new Omega Flight book go from "interesting" to "OMG, holly ****!". Think about the Beast-Wonder Man-type chemistry also between the two.
Beta Ray Bill could be introduced via an Alpha Flight-linked supernatural menace. Like say a Great Beast appears terrorizing people but there`s no Snow Bird and Shaman this time to fight it off. Ray Bill that was available for help hear the signal and sends the creature packing.
I think the guy that eventualy forms the new Omega Flight could be Canadian. He could be a Howard Chaykin cynical type of character who was in the GRC(and worked also for the CIA) and black ops who sees Beta Ray Bill, Ben Grimm and so forth in Canada and being the perfect con man, organise a false threat so these heroes could join together. And then when it`s over he put on a new version of the James McDonald suit to become the new Guardian. Then a former AF member could join like Aurora(who has some sort of spotlight in X-Men right). Or Talisman. Or Snowbird. Better yet, a version of those three.
Finally I could see somebody from Quebec joining, some sort of rebelious dark vigilante-type.

Seriously.
I'm only getting 'Omega Flight' on the account of Beta Ray Bill and the fact Oeming likes him. Plus I'm starting a Beta Ray Bill fansite so... I'd HAVE to keep up with 'Omega Flight' anyways whether I like it or not.

Yeah, but it came up all the time in those damn TVO educational videos, so us anglophones ended up saying it every so often.

Arune: you talking about the videos with that mime? I remember those from French-Second-Language classes in high school, man! Wish I could remember the name of the actor or the show...
Hybrid2's right about one thing, though: Quebec -- and the rest of francophone Canada -- ain't France. Even though Parisien dialect was what those high-school classes taught back then. A bit annoying, but what were we gonna do back then, right?

I love Oeming. I love Oeming's art, I wish he was penciling the book.

n/m, disregard plz.
For a series to be called Omega Flight, it needs primarily Canadian-based super-heroes & villains. This series is really just anti-Avengers lite.
