I recall someone on this board wishing for this volume when Secret Empire was released:

CAPTAIN AMERICA AND THE FALCON: NOMAD TPB
Written by STEVE ENGLEHART & JOHN WARNER
Penciled by SAL BUSCEMA, FRANK ROBBINS & HERB TRIMPE
Cover by GIL KANE
Disillusioned by government corruption, Steve Rogers lays down uniform and shield -- but it's not as easy to set aside half a lifetime of heroics, so a new legend is born: Nomad, the man without a country? But who will take up the forsaken red-white-and-blue, and what will it cost him to hold onto it? Boss Morgan, the Viper and the Red Skull are on hand with enough villainy for any hero, old or new! Plus: the origin of the Falcon! Guest-starring Nick Fury and the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.! Collects CAPTAIN AMERICA AND THE FALCON #177-186.
192 PGS./Rated T+ ...$24.99
ISBN: 0-7851-2197-8
CAPTAIN AMERICA AND THE FALCON: SECRET EMPIRE TPB STILL AVAILABLE!
$19.99 (ISBN: 0-7851-1836-5)

A little expensive for my tastes, but a good read, for sure! The coloring will probably be as bad as in the Secret Empire volume, though.

Also, it appears that the early reports of Essential Defenders V2 were correct, and the last two chapters of the Headmen/Nebulon story will be missing. Hooray Marvel.

It was me!You're probably better off with the regular comics anyway. When I stop and think about it, and get beyond the exitement of having certain issues collected in a tpb, the quality of coloring in most of Marvel's reprints is atrocious, and it really does detract from the comics. I found this to be the case with Secret Empire, and I found it to be extremely noticeable with the Avengers Serpent Crown reprint. It sounds stupid, but I just don't enjoy the line art (by Perez) as much in the tbp, and the only difference is the coloring.

With Marvel charging twenty-five bucks for ten issues, there's a good chance I'll take a pass on this, and anyone who's interested in reading it can probably find the back issues for $2.50 a pop anyway if they're patient. (The actual Nomad story is only six issues long anyway, including the three issues after Steve has renounced Cap but hasn't become Nomad yet).
