I just love the cover. Besides the details in the characters being just amazing, you can almost feel the tention. It is almost like the entire scene is going in slow motion. The two slowly walk up to each other, the drawn out hiss of the knives being scraped along the endge of the sheaths...Drax's back muscles tensing as he prepares to strike...about to spring into action.

You see this on the shelves and it promises you a kick ass fight.

That's pretty tough, but I'm in the dark . . . what is this a cover for?

Annihilation #5 out in December. (And no, this time people can't yell at me about spoilers. This is the cover! ;) )

Honestly, as much as I like civil war, Annihilation is the best cross over event in several years.

I lied in that thread about Mark Millar licking goats.

If it weren't for Annihilation, I'd be a whole lot less enthusiastic about buying Marvel books each month. This series is a goldmine of space characters far too unutilized in recent years. And yes, this cover is amazing. :)

W/O Spoiling it for anyone, how would you convice me, a DC, buyer to buy it?

It depends. It's more of a series for Marvel fans, especially fans of the Starlin space opera stories. Giffen's writing it, though! Very nice.

Yep. Dell'Otto's art was probably one of the only things driving me to contine buying Secret War. :p

It is an well told, solid epic tale that you can pick up with minimum crossovers. All you really need is Annihilation: Epilogue and then the Annihilation series. The minis that came before it are quite good, but the only one really needed is Nova. So if you can find the back issues, it is good.

Of Infinite Crisis, Civil War and Annhiliation (and sorry if I keep mispelling it) it is the most focused and the most tight, and it is a lot of fun.

I disagree. While I am a marvel fan, I am really not a fan of the cosmic stuff and I knew next to nothing about any of it until I picked this event up. I am enjoying it just fine.

Actually....if I were you, I would check out the Nova and Super Skrull TPB when they come out because they were both excellent. Then see what you think.

Even Ronan? I'm a huge fan of Marvel's cosmic characters, but even that mini was a chore for me. :p They did make it easier for people to pick up Nova and Super Skrull, though, without having to know the characters' histories. And everyone knows Silver Surfer, so his mini wouldn't be all that hard to get into for a new reader, outside of the herald roll call.

Well, Ronan is my least favorite of the bunch. But even that wasn't that bad.

It certainly is a gorgeous cover. Can't wait for that confrontation. Too bad Thanos's fairy isn't sitting on his shoulder though.

Maybe he's just helping out in the kitchen.
