Wow. That's almost Cronin-ian.

Y'could try to cut back. Here's my "list of stuff I buy but not pull 'cause I wanna hold the book in my hand before committing my thre bucks" from the big two:

Beyond
Detective Comics when J.H is drawin'.
Solo (Although it might be cancelled now.)
Runaways (Digests)
Lucifer (Trades)
Justice
Jack Kirby's Galactic Bounty Hunters
Eternals

And, so far, all the recent DC Original GNs: Can't Get No, Sloth, and the Lion one.

Just stuff I really like or stuff that jams down on my specific nerdy-awesome buttons. If I buy too many new comics I just get worn out.

But then AGAIN, I spend a buncha my time in the back issue boxes or trying to get the dealer to knock ten bucks off of Zap! # 9 or something. And I buy most of Fantagraphics 'an Drawn and Quarterly's output. So I'm not all that much better off.

Just find a good public library and spend your money on something useful, like food.

I've made a habit of updating and saving my pull list in a .txt file to review where all my monies are going.

Alright... with much effort, I think I've listed everything I get as of right now.

From DC and Vertigo:

100 Bullets
52
Action Comics
The All-New Atom
All Star Superman
Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis
Batman
Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight
Birds of Prey
Blue Beetle
Catwoman
Checkmate
The Creeper
Detective Comics
The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive
Firestorm: The Nuclear Man
Green Arrow
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
Hellblazer
Ion
JLA Classified
JSA
JSA Classified
Justice
Justice League of America
Martian Manhunter
Mystery in Space
Nightwing
Outsiders
Robin
Secret Six
Seven Soldiers
Shadowpact
Supergirl
Supergirl and the Legion of Super-heroes
Superman
Superman/Batman
Swamp Thing
Teen Titans
Trials of SHAZAM!
Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters
Wonder Woman

This list will grow be growing soon due to all the minis coming out, like Tales of the Unknown, Connor Hawke: Dragon's Blood, The Omega Men and Guy Gardner: Collateral Damage. I also have plenty of ongoing launches to look forward to in coming months, like The Spirit, and Superman Confidential and Batman Confidential.

From Marvel and MAX:

4
Amazing Spider-Man
Annihilation
Astonishing X-Men
Beyond
Cable & Deadpool
Captain America
Civil War
Civil War: Frontline
Civil War: Young Justie & Runaways
Daredevil
Eternals
Exiles
Fantastic Four
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Ghost Rider
Incredible Hulk
Iron Man
Ms. Marvel
New Avengers
New X-Men
Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E.
The Punisher
Runaways
Sensational Spider-Man
Supreme Power
Ultimate Fantastic Four
Ultimates
Ultimate Spider-Man
Ultimate X-Men
Uncanny X-Men
Union Jack
Wolverine
Wolverine: Origins
X-Factor
X-Men

Things might be showing up soon that I'll be picking up for a while, to see if they're good. Like Punisher: War Journal.

From Image:

Battle Pope
Invincible
The Walking Dead

Heh. Safe to say who's really bringing the talent to Image. :p It sucks that books I used to love, like Savage Dragon and Spawn have sucked for so long. This list will probably be just like this for a very long time.

From Darkhorse:

B.P.R.D.: The Universal Machine (and anything B.P.R.D. in general)
Conan
Conan and the Songs of the Dead
Goon
Hellboy (nothing right now, but I get anything that comes out with him)
Usagi Yojimbo

This list constantly fluctuates depending on what Dark Horse puts out.

And I think that's everything. Might've missed a couple.

Cut back, okay, but do not give up comic books!

They are too awesome!

You don't need to quit entirely. Just drop a few titles. In fact, go ahead and drop half those titles because you read a lot of crap.

I couldn't possible imagine what I would drop and what I would keep.

That's the difference between a good library and a bad or mediocre one! My local library also rents DVDs.

And even if your library doesn't carry trades (and most do, plus they all take requests), they can usually borrow them for you from other libraries.

I add 'usually' because some libraries (like Portland OR) have had to refuse to interlibrary loan both comics and music from other libraries because they never get returned and then they have to reimburse the original lending library. So don't steal!

Quitting comics is easier than you think.

I do it every Wednesday at 12:30pm. Which is exactly half an hour before my LCS has it's stuff out.

It's like a drunk or drug addict or even a filthy smoker swearing to give up his weapon of choice every day.

Ive also thought about leaving comics, but there`s still a few things i have not read yet.So i may buy a TPB every so often, but there is one thing that might stop me from buying single issues. The price.

Yeah, mainly part of the reason why I need to hold myself back is because I'm afraid I'll start stacking up a ridiculous list of titles to purchase. I had 40 bucks that I needed to save for lunch, but instead, I decided to visit the comic shop and spend it on some trades.

I can't stop the hunger though. It's just too good.
