Hey folks! By chance I happen to have an extra Mike Mignola sketchbook ("Some Drawings") from SDCC 2006 and a Hellboy miniprint (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showpost.php?p=3250181&postcount=3). I would like to give these away to a member on the board. To do this, I'm going to have a little trivia contest.
RULES
1) The prize is a signed Mike Mignola San Diego 2006 mini print number 623/750 and a signed Mike Mignola 2006 sketchbook "Some Drawings" number 449/750. This prize has no cash value and there are no substitutions; it must be accepted as is. It will be mailed to you, wherever you are in the world, by regular Canada Post lettermail (which is air mail internationally and quite fast). I'll package it up well though!
2) To participate in the contest, you must be a registered Comic Book Resources Forums member and you have to have registered on or before September 17, 2006. As well, you have to have posted a minimum of three posts on the Hellboy.com forum on or before September 17, 2006.
3) You must answer all five questions correctly in order to qualify. Only one entry per CBR Forum membership is permitted. In the event that more than one person answers all five questions correctly, the names of those people who correctly answered all five questions will be submitted for a random draw. The answers to the questions are found in threads on the CBR Hellboy.com forum that have been posted in since June 1, 2006. The specific posts that the answers are found in may have been posted prior to June 1, 2006.
4) The contest closes at 2300 hours Mountain Daylight Time*, October 10, 2006 (and the contest email account will be disabled at that time).
*MDT is 6 hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)
5) The winner will be notified by email and CBR Private Message on October 11, 2006. The answers will also be posted on that day. If the winner has not replied to claim the prize by 2300 hours MDT October 18, 2006, there will be another draw from the pool of remaining qualified entrants.
6) This contest is not affiliated with Mike Mignola, Dark Horse, Comic Book Resources, Hellboy.com, or Jonell Napper. It is intended as a fun thing for fellow Hellboarders!
Finally, this isn't a rule because there is no way I can enforce this one but: please, enter this contest because you want to have the sketchbook to enjoy, not to immediately sell on eBay for a profit. I could have sold this myself on eBay, but I'd like it to go to a fellow Hellboarder who will appreciate it and perhaps couldn't afford it otherwise. By the same token, if you've already got a sketchbook, please refrain from entering and let others who do not have one have a chance!
TRIVIA QUESTIONS
1) What is the title of Sparky's favorite Gumboot Chiton album from back in the '80s?
2) How many pounds of "Oil, salad" are called for in the Pancakes (Pamcakes) recipe from a U.S. Army publication posted on the hellboy.com forum?
3) According to the hellboy.com forum Hellboy RPG (Role Playing Game) rules, "Where is the game played?", ie. what universe is it in?
4) At San Diego Comic Con 2006, what was the number AND beverage-related name of Mike Mignola's table that CBM posted on the hellboy.com forum?
5) Name three animals that gary or morna posted photographs of on the hellboy.com forum from their visit with me (ruta) in Alberta in late May, 2006. Provide the complete filename of the attachment AND the name of the animal you see in that photograph. eg "Banff--griz.jpg" AND "Grizzly bear". Spelling mistakes are also acceptable, eg "grizly bear". The general name is also acceptable, so "bear" would be acceptable for "grizzly bear". (Note, gary and morna didn't get to see a bear on their visit, so you can't use that one! ;) )
