And that seriously pisses me off. Hasbro have enough experience (see: Star Wars) to know not to radically change things up between the prototype and production stages, but they do it anyway.

Its like they don't care about ML at all.

Yeah, outside of the articulation I mostly have a problem with their paint jobs.

In the prototypes (like say this Ronin one) it has a nice gold trim and it actually looks decent. Then in these other pics I'm seeing a regular blegh yellow color and it doesn't look nearly as good as that first one. On the upside I'm really glad to see a Ronin figure and this Elektra/Skrull Elektra one is way better than the first Toybiz one which still had the really bad side leg joints.

Once they release an Ares figure, all with be right with me in Marvel Legend land.

Anybody here picked up the Marvel Legends Unleashed line yet? I have the first ones, classic Spidey and Dodson's version of Goblin, and they look very nice. Pretty much a bigger scale version of Marvel Legends with diorama pieces. Very nice sculpt, articulation, and paint job as as well. Marvelous News has pics of the recently released black Spidey and Doc Ock, plus Iron Man.

Damn, that is a SEXY Iron Man  Do we know when the IM one is being released?

At least Marvel Toys will be handling the sculpts again now that the Legendary Comic Book Heroes line's been axed.
No they won't. And Toy Biz did most of the sculpts for HML 1 and 2. Including the disliked figures. :p

Okay guys ... this is kinda a weird question, but I figure if you guys on this thread can't answer it, no one can. I went out shopping at the local Salvation Army thrift store (because you never know when you might find a good deal there) .... and I ran into THIS for five dollars:

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f336/sabrinaset/DSC00978.jpg

It's almost 30", and on the bottom of the foot says it's copyright 2004 and was made for the Spider-Man II movie. It's about 30" tall.

Beyond that though ... I looked for information about it online, and couldn't find anything. Might be a promotional toy strictly for the store selling it or something made only for conventions, I dunno. Anyone out there have any information on it?

Not that I take this for absolute gospel, but this does worry me. I'm trying to do a little more research to find out if this is true, or if it's just their supplier. I think the wave was about to hit soon at retail?

http://www.toyglobe.com/MarvelLegendsHasbro06.php

If true, that's quite sad. Again, not saying it's a fact, but I'm going to be opening my ears even more to see if anyone finds this wave at stores? Their page for wave 5 also shows canceled. Again if fact this does not bode well for the future continuation of the ML line. If anyone else has found similar information or contradictory info that'd be appreciated, too.

Darn it, that could mean only movie related waves and maybe the two packs.

(also wanted to bump this page up a bit.)

Don't worry. The cancellation notice is simply how some online stores deal with product. The series was indeed delayed, but is still coming. But online stores typically don't like changing release information on products that get delayed or changed. It's oddly easier for them to cancel things and then re-offer them once the new release dates are confirmed. Same thing happened when Marvel Legends 3 was delayed.

The funny thing is when I posted that link, I didn't even know it was an April Fool's joke. Guess the joke's on me.

But yeah, I thought that would be an odd lineup. I was like thinking wtf in my head. lol.

They must be popular with the kiddies, which is good because maybe one day, Anaconda will make her debut! I mean, if Crossbones or Shang-Chi can make it in...

But they are hella cute, I was looking for a Pyro at like wal-mart but couldn't find anything but Mr. Fantastics and Wasps.

hey, I dont really like the Marvel Legend figures(theyre ok but I dont like them enough to collect them and Id probablyy only get a Chamber anyway)

but I do love the Superhero Squad chibi guys. I only have 3 so far- Angel, Colossus & an Emma I won on Ebay. I want to stick to X-Men and get Gambit, Rogue, Storm, Beast, Nightcrawler & Pheonix but those are hard to find & crazy expensive on ebay now!

Fortunately there are plans for a set with Nightcrawler and Gambit (with Jugs & I think Wolverine) and Im glad they are making a Mystique. and I also saw on a website that there will be a Psylocke(with Logan again) too.

Now if theyd just make a Chamber/Jubilee set...at this rate I think its a better probability for that to happen as a SHS release than a Marvel Legends release(MLs dont seem to be doing well these days.)

I went to the store looking for a cute little chibi Pyro, but I couldn't find it so I bought my first Marvel Legends thing today: She-Hulk. She moves all weird, do all those things do that? But yeah... I don't know what kid in their right mind is going "I'm gonna spend 10 bucks on a big green shemale-looking bitch!" Although I probably would've bought her if I was a kid.

I've looked for the SHS Pyro before and all I ever keep finding is that damn effing Wasp, and the Spidey vs. Harry Goblin. Gaaay.

I think they'll totally make a Chamber eventually, maybe a Generation X superhero squad set, that'd be cute.

yeah the only SHS figs I find are the old ones. I really wanted the Gambit/Rogue set but Im not paying 20 bucks for it on Ebay!

personaly I find most of the female ML figs fugly. the Marvel girl is ok but the other ones have the weirdest abdomens & man legs, especially the Emma Frost. and Ive been to a few stores where they just have rows & rows of leftover Emmas. I thought she was supposed to be really popular?

Spider-Man & Electro - Nice to get more Spidey villains. But another repaint Spidey.
Blade & Punisher - Nice set. Glad the Punisher isn't just another repaint.
Captain America & Red Skull - Who'd a thunk we'd get a playskool Nazi.

Red Skull and Electro look pretty neat to me. I just wish that if they feel they have to include a Spider-man, at least have him in a different suit or something to make it more appealing than a repaint.

I still haven't seen any Spider-woman/Hulk or Avengers Assemble packs in stores. Hopefully I'll see some soon.

I'll definitely be getting those boxed sets, I liked what they did with the FF ones since they almost always release them in the white and blue in the boxed sets or in the newer waves). I never got a good thing and I wasn't able to get that great solo Mr. Fantastic. I hope they do the next 2 packs with Johnny and Sue, especially Sue in the contemporary suits.

Ronin looks improved as well.

News from Marvelousnews from NYCC about Marvel Legends:
2008 NYCC: Marvel Legends
by Jay in Marvel at 12:31 PM on 2008.04.18

James Bernet reports in live from the 2008 New York Comic with the following infomation.

Marvel Legends is cancelled?

NO! Of course not.

The Nemesis wave has been pushed back to December though and it is now a Walmart exclusive.

The Red Hulk/Spiral/Adam Warlock/Union Jack/Silver Savage/Black Spider-Man/Wolverine Black wave is coming in September and will be a Target exclusive.

There will be 8 two-packs, all coming this Fall. 3 have not been revealed. Most of the two packs will come with interchangeable heads and hands.Several will also have variants. Larger box sets aren't practical at this time given the price points/cost of plastic/shelf space needed.

The revealed two packs are - Elektra/Ronin; Ultimate Classic Cap/Ultimate Fury; SHIELD Agent/Red Hand Ninja; Forge/Wolverine; Skrull/Kree

The articulation shown, including double jointed elbows, will match the actual released figures, unlike the Hydra goon that in the final release had a limited range of motion ball jointed elbow

The 2 upcoming Hulk/Fing Fang Foom waves will be widely distributed. The first wave is due in August with the second wave hitting shortly after in Septmeber/October.

The reason for the delay in waves we are currently experiencing is that Hasbro is still in a learning process with Marvel Legends. Due to some inventory overages, a reassesment of their marketing and distribution plan was necessary.

Also the rumors of Jesse Falcon and crew jumping ship to Hasbro aren't true. Jesse and Marvel continues to work closely with Hasbro on figure selection and design, including colors and articulation questions, but does not work for Hasbro.

IMAGES are being uploaded to our IMAGE GALLERY below as I type this.

Too bad about the Nemesis line being pushed back since I was looking forward to it.

That red Hulk figure looks neat. Looks like it's based off of Ed McGuiness' design. Or is it?

Rerelease of Iron Spider? Looks like same mold but more solid paint apps. Last one had nice shiny, but easily chippy paint apps. Ugh. Like that see thru Iron Spider fig as well.

X-Force Wolvie looks badass. Easy buy for me.

Venom. Ugh. To date, I like the recent release of the 6 inch Movie Venom the best.

Fing Fang Foom and Wendigo. Huge!

Both Daredevils look very nice.

Oh, hells yeah. Kree/Skrull Hand Ninja/Shield two pack army build up. Yes! And they look good.

Super-Skrull and Captain Marvel in his original costume, Adam Warlock in his Infinity Watch costume (with Gauntlet), Nova, Fin Fang Foom . . .

That's not actually X-Force Wolverine, rather it's the black costume that Adam Kubert designed for Claremont's return to the X-men books in the late 90's ("Revolution"). Unfortunately the costume was never used in the comics and only appeared on one variant cover.

It is most definitely a bad ass costume, though.

I wouldn't be surprised if they repainted it for the X-Force look though Beast. I saw the new wave at the New York Comicon and I will have to say that the Warlock, Nick Fury, Ronin, Elektra, Tigra, and the Planet Hulk/Red Hulk figures looked very good. I still had some issues with the articulation on some of them but overall great paints and sculpts. Hopefully they come close to how they looked at the show.

holy crap! i was just looking at the hulk line, and i never would have thought that i'd see a figure of the bi-beast! now that's digging deep into the marvel vault.

I just hope that Adam Warlock figure comes with a different hand, without the infinity gauntlet on. That distinction should stay with my Marvel Select Thanos....

Yes, the opportunity for the more obscure Marvel characters to get an action figure has never been better. Zzzax should be a shoo-in.

If the ever make a THOR themed line, I will piss my drawers. Start with Thor in his newest outfit, Odin(Simonson era), classic Loki (green jumpsuit with big-ass horns), Sif(GODS ON EARTH), Balder(GOE), and another villain, maybe Malekith or Hela. The Enchantress and The Executioner would make a nice two-pack, and the build-a-figure could be Surtur. If they're still going cheap on the plastic, make the BAF Magog or Ulik the Troll.

Hasbro pulls the trigger on this, I will gladly sacrifice unto them a yearling calf and my finest bull.

Whats up everyone, its been a long time since I last posted here. Anyways I've been purchasing action figures to make my house look cooler and stuff. Anyways i went to Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Kay Bee Toys, my comic book store, and a few other places and was only able to find a total of 8 figures I liked. So far I have Iron Man, Hulk, Cyclops, Venom, Green Goblin, Captain America, and a few others. I've paid 9.99 for each of the action figures and they are all about the same size. Do you guys know of any websites besides Ebay where you can get nice figures for the same price around 9.99. I found a few but they are all asking for like 24.99+ for a figure. Also if anyone has pictures of their collections can you please post.

Thanks

I think it's gonna be the typical feast or famine with Marvel Legends. Their either going to flood the shelves and sit their for months, or they are going to be impossible to find, period. That said, they've started to piddle out in some stores in the Baltimore area, and I've found Gray Hulk, Wendigo, and Skaar. My bet is that She Hulk & Samason are going to be impossible.

Cool. They are releasing a Stealth Iron Man fig so I don't have to go hunt that pricey original one down. This one looks to be more slender and better looking.

And they are rereleasing the same mold of Kang that I paid big bucks for en mass? Silly me.

Ben Reilly Spidey and Iron Man Heroes Reborn figs look good.

What's up with that Juggernaut fig in the background? That can't be a Marvel Legends one right? Isn't their supposed to be a 3.75" Marvel line coming out too?

Still waiting for a Silver Centurion Iron Man armor. Sigh.

Wow. I'm really impressed by the new 3 3/4" Marvel line. The articulation, sculpting, and paint blow away the crappy DC Infinite Heroes line in that scale. Even the character choices are superior. Including both modern and 1st appearance costumes, like with Ms. Marvel. Really liking what I'm seeing here so far. Only complaints? Lack of X-Characters. But I'm sure they're coming, what with Wolverine and Wolverine and the X-Men next year. Either way, Colossus and X-Force Wolverine look fantastic. We'll likely see single packs and comic 2-packs available early spring in 2009. Can't wait for these.

Wasn't shown at the Panel, it looks like, but the Hasbro exhibit had a Silver Surfer and Galactus for the Mighty Muggs line. I'll post pictures of them later.

Yeah, saw those. They're amazingly cute. Still hoping for more X-Characters in that line also.

Yeah, I saw the DC Infinite Heroes at a Target recently and they sucked. Paint apps were not up to par. It's like they took the DC Direct line figs and shrunk it down to 3.75". They came in like three packs.

These Marvel ones will look great next to my Joe figs.

Found the Marvel Legends 2 packs of Forge/Wolverine (which I bought) and Cap and Ultimate Nick Fury (which I passed on for now...until payday, I hope I can find it again!) I've seen the Mr. Fantastic/Thing pack which is a pass as well, the only one I haven't seen is Elektra and Ronin.

The Forge and Wolverine are good. Interchangable heads for different expressions is a different idea, but I like it. Still no real mobility in the hands, but I'm just psyched we get a Forge figure, since he would have been a tough one to customize.

Of course, still waiting for a Polaris figure...

So did anyone here get the SDCC exclusive Fing Fang Foom box set off of HasbroToyShop.com yesterday? It's sold out now of course.

Man, I'm so pissed I missed the chance. Between the madness for Cobra Commander and Nemesis Prime, I didn't even realize that it was going up on the site at all.

I did get the Savage Land box set though. They still have over 360 pieces left.

Nah, I missed it, too.

Something tells me the only way I'll actually be getting a Fin Fang Foom is through eBay.

The FFF exclusive was poor madness. At SDCC, people were lined up all day to get it. You'd see people lugging around multiple big boxes. Madness.

Plus, all together it was too expensive. I suggest to Expletive Deleted that he just get the Heroclix version. Cheaper and nicer.

It's back up at HTS.com. Snatched me a box. Downside is you'll have to wait till 8/25 for shipping.

It's weird cause Nemesis is also back in stock, and Cobra Commander was back in stock for awhile.

Could this be some kind of boo boo on Hasbro part?

Maybe its been posted before but is it true the Nova fig was cancelled? Any info? Thanks.

Nova will be in the Wal-Mart Exclusive Nemesis Wave due out in December. This is the wave with Astonishing Beast, Punisher, Tigra, Black Bolt, 1st App Daredevil.

These store exclusive waves really make me apprehensive. The Wal-Mart Giant Man wave was near impossible to track down, and I wound up getting gouged for most of the figures at different conventions and ebay.

Crossing my fingers!

- Deadpool with Bob, Agent of HYDRA as an accessory figure.
- Bachalo costume Rogue
- The Deadly Genesis X-Men as a set (say what you will about the series or the retcon, but that would be an awesome set to have)
- Monet St. Croix
- Multiple Man with a Dupe display
- Armor
- Pixie (both pink haired and black/pink variant)
- Chamber
- Updated versions of Emma Frost and Kitty Pryde, since the ones already given were pretty bad.

The Hulk wave has been showing up at Target near here... the other day I saw She-Hulk, "The End" Hulk, Son of Hulk, and Wendigo. Considered picking them up because I'd really love to build Fin Fang Foom, but then I noticed they were $15 instead of $10. Considering there are only two figures of the eight I even sort of want (Absorbing Man and Wendigo), and the one I actually REALLY wanted was taken out of the wave (Valkyrie), that just seemed way, way too expensive. Guess I'll wait a couple years and see if I can pick one up off eBay.

- The Deadly Genesis X-Men as a set (say what you will about the series or the retcon, but that would be an awesome set to have)

I have to respectfully disagree. Two of them only appeared in a single story and one of them is a villain nobody likes, no matter how many talented writers try to convince us that no really, he's pretty cool, guys, honest. Darwin I'm ambivalent about, and I'm sure Peter David will make him awesome, but that wouldn't justify a full box set. I'd much rather see a classic New Mutants set or a Defenders set with Nighthawk, Hellcat, Son of Satan, and Valkyrie.

Yeah, I've seen quite a few Hulk Super Hero Squad figures, but have yet to see She-Hulk anywhere. I would like to get her and Black Bolt.

I finally saw and purchased She-hulk/Thing and Black Bolt/King Hulk packs. Still waiting to see a Carnage, Ben Reilly or Hobgoblin pack.

I got the electra and ronin and cap and ultimate fury - very happy. particularly the electra - it looks awesome, it makes my old toybiz one look like a transvestite.

i also agree on the polaris figure - bring her on.

when does the new ms marvel come out - she looks rad.

I got the foom. i was just lucky i guess but, being in australia I had to get a few figures imported. bah.

I agree, the new Elektra looks superior to that of the Toybiz version. I like the face. I also like the Ronin fig as well.

I can't seem to find anymore of the Forge/Wolvie 2 packs though. Saw one awhile ago but Forge had a lazy eye. Passed on it.

Anyone run into the Red Hulk waves at Target yet? I've been checking and nada.

Ran into the new rapinted Spidey figs today and got lucky and picked up one transparent Iron Spidey fig.

I've seen all of the Red Hulk wave except Union Jack. I passed on Spiderman, Adam Warlock and Silver Savage, but did buy the varient X-Force Wolverine. He's pretty cool looking but nothing spectacular construction design wise.

Spiral though, is another issue entirely. Obviously completely new tooling, and not fodder for customization, she kicks major consumer butt. The online pictures do NOT do her justice.

Will probably buy the Union Jack when I see him. I"m just so glad that we're seeing these on the shelves again, it's been so long since we've seen a non-character centric wave out (like Hulk, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Spiderman).

On a side note, is anyone out there getting the DC Universe Classics? I found Aquaman & Blue Superman months ago, and haven't seen any of the others ones in Wave 2. WTF!?

I've found all of them, and passed on them $15 a figure? If that keeps up I might be done with Marvel Legends

Tuan

Right now, Mattel is kicking Hasbro's butt though. From the latest pics of the DC Classics line of Metallo and Despero (http://www.aftimes.com/aslu/slu.shtml) Mattel just can't go wrong with the Four Horsemen on their side. And they don't cost 15 bucks a pop!

Mattel is doing a lot wrong. And the line is suffering for it.

And it's only the Hulk waves and the Target exclusives that are $15. Blame Target for that one.

Found the Ares wave in a Wal-Mart today. They are more of the original $10 price (a lil' more than that but not $15)
Picked up all, but found I accidentially got two "spider-bens" and no human Torches....ah, well the thrill of the hunt.

Good figures. It does bother me that in some form or fashion, there are only two brand new characters (not including other versions of the characters), and that's Vindicator and Crossbones, but Kang was also pretty hard to find, and the Iron Man and War Machine are different enough that it's interesting.

Pretty standard build and articulation on these. I've noticed the pieces to Ares do not stay together as well as some of the other BAFs, but that doesn't make a it a good figure.

Crossbones is really huge! He's probably my favorite of the wave design-wise, but character wise is Kang. Hasbro really needs to up the production of bad guys , instead of another Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, or members of the FF.

But I digress. Good luck, with these being a wal-mart exclusive, I'm thinking they will be harder to find than the normal wave, but it's nice to have new ML regardless.

Hoping we hear some news on upcoming stuff for next year soon!
