RETRO ROCKET #3
This came out a little while ago, but it’s still worth mentioning. This is one of those underdog stories that you don’t often see in comics. In many ways, this is a LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD story for the robot age. Out of date automation, Retro Rocket, must battle a galactic menace. Because his circuitry is ancient, he was left unaffected by the EMP blast which took out the rest of Earth’s defenses. So it’s up to the unlikeliest of heroes to save the day. You can’t help but cheer for Retro as he continues to keep up the good fight and try to get the girl despite the odds. In an age of squeaky clean heroes, here’s a hero that just plain squeaks. RETRO ROCKET is a true surprise that should be sought out when packaged in trade if you missed the single issues.
