Hey folks!
Some of you may know me from the Comm Board... I decided to finally post here, as HELLBOY is my favorite comics, and Mignola my favorite Illustrator.
My real name is Alex and I own a comic shop art/art gallery in Brooklyn. I have a framed Hellboy sketch over my bed, and despite my girlfriend finding it "spooky", we keep the Mignola/Bowen bust in a place of honor in the living room... that is, of course, just the iceberg tip of my collection.
So I just wanted to introduce myself before I started posting...
I don't plug my shop all that often on CBR, but if anyone is interested, the site is www.rocketshipstore.blogspot.com
thanks!

Welcome on board! If your any kind of mignola lover you'll bound to like it here! ;)
Edit:
Just checked the blog page of your comic shop and I have to say that i'm impressed,
thats the kind of place I'd like to buy my comics in. From what it looks like the shop
is big enought so that all the stuff is well presented and yet just small enought to let one feel cousy in it.
Also the art pieces on the wall and the ammount of things(events and others) your organize indicate
that it's being run by a true comic lover.

Welcome to the Hellboard, Kid Omega!
You'll find this a sleepier, less contentious place than the Community forum but we all loves us our Hellboy.

Welcome, Alex. I remember going to your site when Rosario Dawson
was doing her O.C.T. signing. So, did Bob Fingerman sign any copies
of Hellboy, Jr? Any future signing with DarkHorse artists or writers?
Oh, and as a new memeber of the Hellboard yer required to send
$320 in small bills to me. Just PM me for the address.

I've got a Quitely rendition of The Endless above mine and it's... well, it's distracting. Beautiful, but distracting. :p
Welcome to Hell... boy's board, Kid Kamandi.

HAHAHahaha. Being Married is all about compromise. I have been pretty lucky so far. I have a Mignola on the bookcase near the entry and 2 Guy Davis' in the dining room. Soon the Davis' will be displaced for two Rebecca Guay's (who's work my wife was quite taken with). Sure, I loose some BPRD footing on the main floor, but I still get comic artwork on the walls and get to move the Davis' into the office!
I know of people who have a very hard time trying to decorate a home together. There is a case in my family where it has gotten very ugly because of differences of taste.

I guess I've been pretty lucky, in that my girlfriend has become a fan of comics as well... In the apartment we have (framed) two pages by Darwyn Cooke, a DMZ page by Brian Wood, a Michael Kupperman gag page, a Ryan Kelly LOCAL page, the aforementioned Hellboy sketch, a Hopey portrait by Xaime Hernandez, and a watercolor page from GIRL STORIES by Lauren Weinstein. Also, a pin-up I did that was in LOCAL 6, but that doesn't count because I did it...
She is in the fashion bid-ness, so our place is usually covered in drawings and sketchbooks and screen prints and the like... converting her over to comics was easy.

Yeah, welcome. I'm kinda new as well but this place rocks and since it's not to busy..it's easier to follow what's going on.

I know of people who have a very hard time trying to decorate a home together.
Thankfully, my husband and I are both cheapasses with questionable taste. A typical decorating exchange:
"Hey, look what I found* lying by the side of the road!"
"Cool! Does it smell bad?"
"Nah - the bugs already got to it."
"Awesome, it'll look great hanging up on the wall in the living room!"
Welcome to the forum, Kid Omega!

Sparky, you and Lars slay me, you really do. You guys sound like such a fun couple. Wifey and I fight about everything wall-wise, as in I just was finally able to put up some of my collected comic art, but i was only allowed one small area of the bedroom, away from guest eyes.

Maybe I should start a "home decorating with comic art/Hellboy-related themes" thread? I am actually planning some Hellboy-related additions to our master bathroom. No disrespect intended - the bathroom has a Japanese theme, and this fits in. It's actually pretty tasteful, not a Right Hand Of Doom toilet-paper holder or anything.
Homer: "Right Hand of Doom Toilet Paper Holder" mmmmmmmm."
