Haven't seen any love for this issue yet.
Anyway, just read it and enjoyed it very much. Basically, Max and Case break into the newspaper's office to put a copy of The Escapist #1 into the hands of a journalist. Although their plan works, the issue garners a less than favourable review, devastating Max. Following this, Case persuades Max to help her ink #2, despite his protests that there won't be one. This goes into a quite cool couple of pages where we hear their conversation while watching The Escapist do his thing. As they are about to get a little friendlier, Den bursts in with the news that they have 80 000 copies ordered. Cut to a scene with the previous copyright holders of The Escapist... They want the rights back.
The cover art was nice, too.
Anyone else get this issue?

Not until you mentioned it... ;)
As for #3, like the previous two issues, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Was glad to see another "essay" at the back of the book, too.
The only thing that has me down on this title is that it isn't an ongoing.
And oh, next issue, NINJAS! :D

Ditto.
Still need to read the essay though. I just bought The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, too, but I won't start for a couple of days (exams :().
Seems like half the comics I buy have ninjas in them!
Not that that's a bad thing.

There are actually two artists for the book per issue. Rolston (who has always had this style of art since I first saw his work in Pounded) does the real world of the creators, while jason shawn alexander is doing the comic page art.
I love this series, I was going to wait for the trade after the first issue but just kept picking it up and will finish the series.

I enjoyed it, but i still think the main characters are somewhat dull indie-comics cliches. Loved the piece from the author of "Men of Tomorrow" (a great book which I highly recommend).

I agree with the dull indie-comics part but not so sure I agree with the cliche part. Anyway, I'll go check out that Men of Tomorrow book.
