I'm not surprised-- on top of the Lone Ranger's being a long-well-recognized character, one might even hazard "beloved character', there's the resurgence of the western as a viable comics genre, annnnd---

Lone Ranger #1 was just really good: an excellent set-up for the on-going tale(s), well scripted, well written, beautifully drawn.

The return of Jonah Hex pretty much got me back into reading comics, after a long break. The explosion of western comics in the last year or so has been awesome. Lone Ranger is just another quality title for my western fix.

Oh and I got a question about LR #1. Is it an origin story, or is his origin story a flashback?

That's a good question! I hadn't even thought about it; was (even) a little sad about it, not a big begin right-at-the-beginning guy. It would certainly be neat to learn after another issue or two that what we've just read is the LR's recounting the tale-- and then many more, ala Jack Crabbe in Little Big Man (a very very fine western, if you've never read it--heh, even if you have!--).

Well, here's more I gotta hope for.

When I saw the first issue on the stands last week I didn't know if I should get it or not.I'm glad I decided to pick it up.I always liked the character and the first issue was a really good read.Should be a good series.

I noticed few issues at local comic book convention. i got forgot to get though before I left.
