Hello Mr. Bedard. I can understand the obession, I have only seen the first few episodes and already it is quite gripping. I do regret it somewhat since I have a fondness for green onions and it's hard to look at them the same way now...

I actually wasn;t sure if I liked Gantz until several episodes in. The silly horndog aspect of it kinda turned me off. But you have to take it on its own terms, and Kei's sex obsession actually turns out to be an important part of his character. Maybe it's just been that long since I was a teenager. Of course, if I had seen Gantz when I was 16 it would be branded into my memory the way Conan the Barbarian is now.

Anyhow, try to watch the whole thing if you can. It all ends in the weirdest, wildest way.

I watched Gantz. I have a strange perspective on it since I haven't read the manga but I know the manga goes in a much different direction. The last few episodes in the anime don't happen in the manga (the anime just made up that story to end the series).

I'm really curious about the manga.

But it's definitely one of the most "messed-up" (I'd use a harsher word to describe it in real life but I'll respect CBR board rules and use a toned-down word) stories I have ever followed.

Yeah, I really want to read the manga it was based on now. I hear it's quite good, and that a lot of the pacing problems of the anime (it actually slows down when the action picks up) aren't a problem in the manga.

Interesting to hear about that ending, since the way the anime ends is both frustrating and haunting.
