My question is, will this book be in gorgeous b/w, or color like the original series was? Also, when will it be made available?

I guess I should have checked the preview for the book before asking my question about the color or b/w issue. Personally I don't mind that this one will appear in color. This was back before Mike had gone to a heavier emphasis on black, so the color has much more to "say" here I think.

I'm really looking forward to this being reprinted. I have tried to spread the good word about this mini by picking up all 4 of the issues when I saw them on ebay for cheap and then giving them away to friends. Harder to find them all for cheap anymore, so nice to know I can send folks to a shop to buy it new!
And the colors look the same to me..Van Volkenburg(sp?) was the colorist.
I'm also anxious to hear what plans Dark Horse has for future Faf&Mouser stuff

Yeah, and great colors they were to. Granted, I think Mike's current stuff is colored better than anything else he's done, but there's something to be said for that fully painted look.

I really enjoyed the colors in the Epic books. Sure, it's not as nice as recent Hellboy colors, but it's much better than the Seed of Destruction colors.

...and this from Comics Continuum:
Written by Howard Chaykin, art by Mike Mignola.
Since their first appearance in 1939, Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser have ranked among the most beloved characters in fantasy. Their rollicking adventures in the fantastic land of Nehwon have influenced the work of some of the best in modern fantasy, including Michael Moorcock, Terry Pratchett, and countless others.
Chaykin and Mignola's four-issue adaptation of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, long out-of-print, is collected here in a graphic novel for the first time, with new cover art from Mignola.
Dark Horse Comics will be collecting the hard-to-find Lankhmar comics adapations, Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, written by Howard Chaykin with art by Mike Mignola! DH Press will be publishing all eight books in the influential Lankhmar series and Dark Horse Entertainment is developing the property as a major motion picture.
200 pages, $14.95, in stores on March 14.

Sigh. Every last thing I love will become commercialized and hugely popular. First the Evil Dead flicks, then Lord of the Rings, and now Fafhrd & the Gray Mouser....dammit, I wanted to write new comics and a screenplay for F&GM!
At least Lovecraft remains decidedly unfilmable and relatively unmarketable outside the book/RPG range (unless GDT finally gets around to making At the Mountains of Madness, then maybe we'll get an HPL film boom).
I'm going to adapt Leiber's Our Lady of Darkness into a screenplay. That'll show 'em.

Uh, PG? Ya may want to check this site fer Lovecraft movies.
http://www.thelurker.com/True, there's a whole cottage industry of Lovecraft films. I'm thinking more in terms of mainstream films with national releases. "Herbert West, Reanimator" isn't really a classic Lovecraft tale, which may be why it makes for a decent movie. The Resurrected is better, but again, what I want to see is At the Mountains of Madness or "The Dunwich Horror" done with a real budget.
Dagon was all right, but it's a little too far from the original story. It should have been set in New England.
Anyway, my post was intended to sound like hyperbolic sour grapes, i.e., "funny." It's hard to get that across on the Internet sometimes.

tuff to convey in a posting.

Unfortunately, after all the great covers recent editions of these books have had (Steranko, and before that MIGNOLA), Dark Horse have opted for some really unappealing graphics for their covers. I don't understand that! Why not use the Mignola art, since they presumably want to cross-promote them with the TPB of his stuff. If White Wolf won't license it, get him to do new covers! That would make ME buy 'em again, for sure.
Wasn't there also talk about reprinting the original Howard Chaykin-drawn comics in a new trade as well? I've never seen those, so I'd like that too.

It was interesting to have Mike confirm that there was a lot of evolution going on in his burgeoning style during this series. From what I've seen of it, I definitely felt as though I could see him trying out a lot of what would go into the aesthetic of Hellboy.
I found the source material kind of inaccessable when I checked the previews at Dark Horse (and agree that the cover art is pretty lame), but I guess it deserves a chance as everyone seems to speak reasonably highly of the stories.

Sometimes i don't understand Darkhorse. These new covers are so medicore and common it's just sad... I know that one shoulnd not judge a book by the cover but it's the cover that makes'em stand out on the shelves. These ones look like one of the many common fantasy crap that piles up in many used books shops.

Just finished this this morning over some java. What a great run of reads! It struck me how similar the story structure was to what Mike said he originally had in mind for Anung: dudes/dude what go travel around and get involved into minor scrapes with deities, ghosts and adaptations of local lengends (almost like a badass Johnny Appleseed or something, forgot the character Mike referenced). The stories were really tight and yet overall the arc was so loose and playful. Mike gives the characters and the spaces they inhabit such personality and life and you can really see his style coalescing towards what would show up in the first runs of Hellboy (even seems like you can see what looks like the inspiration for scenes from The 3rd Wish in the underwater cavern). All in all, I really loved it. Good on ya Messrs. Mignola and Chaykin and good on ya Dark Horse for rereleasing these.:D
(may have to eat my words about the source material!)

I'm just glad that with the reprinting of this wonderful material so many new Fahfrd fans are being created! I practically had to beg, borrow, and steal the 4 issue series when I obtained the issues (in the end a friend basically ended up dropping them in my lap for free) back in the day, but with the new reprinting, more and more new people are coming on board daily.
I can't find this anywhere. All my comic shops sold out.I hope dark horse is printing more.
