This is just another example of misogyny in the male-dominated comics industry. By the end of the issue we'll probably have Phyla getting raped and killed by Lightmaster (http://www.spiderfan.org/characters/lightmaster.html).

I suspect it would be more controversial if Drax had previously been portrayed as a positive character. Slapping someone to get them to focus is hardly out of character for him, and I can easily see him doing the same thing to a male character.

True.

Honestly, I don't mind Drax slapping Phyla, considering the context it's in. Given how she she was acting (which is understandable, given what happened), I don't think conventional chit-chat would have calmed her down.

I only said the '*waits for someone to complain*' line, because sooner or later... someone is BOUND to complain without reading the preview all the way through.

I have no idea what you're talking about. It seems like you're the only person who got this impression. I saw a chick wiggin out and and Drax slappin some sense into her. She needed it. I thought the Thanos thing was a little gangsta, but him doing that to a guy wouldn't be man-hate. :rolleyes:

Beautiful! Can't wait for the inevitable Drax/Thanos showdown.

I'm really torn about this. I have to make my decision on soon on whether I'm picking this up in singles or the trade... agggh.

Y'know, it wouldn't surprise me *at all* If Thanos does this only to get a chat with Drax. Or perhaps to re-assemble the Infinity Watch (The only founding members missing are Pip & Adam....)

I mean, he didn't actually attack first...

Thats true, Thanos pimp-slapped both She-Hulk and Namor AT THE SAME TIME(!) during the Infinity Gauntlet... in Thanos's defense, they both deserved it.:D

I seriously agree, not 100% sure about the infinity watch but that would be sweet. But I think he may have a use for the destroyer when he turns on Annihilus.

Phyla ain't gonna be the new Marvel with those moves.

I WANT Drax to kick Thanos' rear, but I just can't see it working out that well. Drax just isn't anywhere near as tough as he used to be and Thanos is just stupid powerful. To the point where I really don't like the character, it's just too much.

I'll be really really realy happy if Thanos gets offed or at least severly depowered by the end of Anni. I think he'd be a better character if he weren't powerful to the power of plaid.

That said, this issue can not come out fast enough.

Seriously though, I see Drax actually playing it smart... Maybe turn Annihilus against Thanos.

Hmm, wonder if Rich could imbue Drax with his power? :) Drax going all Super Nova with his outrageous skills.. THAT I'd pay double the cover price for.
