I stopped following the whole X-Universe about 4 or five years ago and had lost track of Nate Grey even before that. Does anyone know what Marvel has him doing right now? If he is dead, how did it happen? Was it meaningless and trivial? In the late 90's, Marvel was trying to establish Nate Grey as a major player in the Marvel U, but it seemed that fans didn't go nuts for a character with nigh unlimited power. In any case, what happened to this guy?

He's dead. Check out the X-Man spotlight at UXM.net:

It turns out that all the power in the world couldn't make him actually interesting to fans, so Marvel killed him. I suppose he'll return someday -- they all do eventually -- but probably not anytime soon.

Good lord, I hope not. He shouldn't have made the jump from AOA in the first place. Ellis' "cosmic shaman" arc was the only time he was interesting, and in that run he was taken back out of the 616 universe. Coincidence?

The only Summers who's remained dead is Katherine Anne, the rest are walking zombies. Thus, Nate will eventually come back.
With all his power, he should've been given an important-but-never-required duty like guarding the M'Kraan Crystal, the access to the DC Universe, or the like.

He's not technically dead. He scattered his essence across an alternate earth to poison the mutant energy the harvesters were gonna leech. I'm sure he could recollect himself much like Quentin Quire if he so wished.

I loved AoA X-Man, and a FEW issues in his 616 run were good. That one with Rogue and the X-Cutioner was fun. As was his fight with the ff.
