Two questions:
1) Better Team? (I think it would be Wildcats cause they lived longer)
2) Favorite Team? (I like Wildcats more)
You can use any line-up...... Except StormWatch Black (aka: The Authority)
Oh, and some reasons would be great.

Well, the aliens tore through Stormwatch like Toshiro Mifune thru wet tissue paper (even the Farenheit and Hellstrike, the fire-wielding members?), and the Wildcats held their own, at least.

WildC.A.T.s rule because they were just more interesting IMHO, I especially liked the issues that focused on Grifter and Zealot so really I guess I only liked it because of those two, but I dug Majestic and Maul to.

better creation? characters with more potential? Wildcats, most certainly... as Joe Casey showed...
but as for actual stories? since I only consider WildC.A.T.S as Vol. 1 (since the name changed to Wildcats in Vol. 2)... most certainly StormWatch... especially since you actually got more than about 12 good issues out of the 50 issues that each had in Vol. 1...
although everything before Ellis was utter trash in StormWatch...
and there were more "tolerable" stories in WildC.A.T.S. outside of Moore and Robinson... but not 1 issue that was as GOOD as any issue of Ellis' work... so it's a question of "more decent issues vs. about 25 GOOD issues" for me... so I'll call it a tie between them and just say the Authority wins... because out of all the Authority stories (about 60 issues all told), only 13 of them were even marginally bad (as Vol. 2 wasn't as awful as some people think... just not nearly on par with Ellis or Millar of Brubaker)

I would've loved to have seen Winter survive into the current WS universe. He was a compelling character.
Actually, I guess he did in a way in The Authority, but the less of that the better.

1) Better Team?
Stormwatch: Team Achilles. Man, this is what Wildstorm comics should be. These regular human bastards outsmarted and outstrategized The Authority at every turn.
Apart from them, I go with Wildcats.
2) Favorite Team?
The Cats. I've enjoyed every incarnation. Especially 3.0.

I gotta go with Wildcats as my favorite...though Ellis' version of Stormwatch was the best "team." Authority just doesn't have the kind of team dynamic I like. It's hard to put into words...

Agreed. the first stories of Stormwatch were really bad, although the characters were original. but it seemed like more effort was put into the Cats and i think the fact that they weren't government sponsored gave them more of an edge.
Stormwatch:TA was good, but then Wildcats v3.0 was too

Stormwatch. Ellis' pre-Authority lineup first, followed by SW: Team Achilles. Stormwatch prior to that was just forgettable Liefeld-lite junk.
That said, I do like the WildCATs, too, throughout most of their various incarnations. But there's no version of them that I liked better than the Ellis era Stormwatch, although Morrison/Lee may change that if it lives up to its potential.

Stormwatch for me, i really enjoyed V.2 by ellis, it's one of the best modern comics i have read, better than The Authority.
I have some of the older V1 too and those are garbage, nice pictures and no story.
WildC.A.T.S: i have not read the 3.0 storys, but i have some of the old v1 unreadable ones and Moores run, and i'm not impressed.
I don't like the over the top kewlness with this characters at all, it's so early 90s.
But i will give 3.0 a chance soon to see what it was about.
Stormwatch invented a new type of comics that is stil being copied and that is selling well.

It is one of the best comics that you will ever read. I promise.
It is quite an improbable standard for any succesive writer to live up to, but morrison might just do it.

See, I've found the stuff I've read from Grant Morrison(New X-men, The Filth, and some of The Invisibles) to be much better than the things I've read from Casey(Wildcats v.2 & 3.0, Mr. Majestic, some of his Uncanny X-men)...Some of Casey's stuff is really hit or miss, while Morrison seems to have a better focus in his writing...That's all my personal preference, mind you.

I really love Wildcats but I'd have to say Stormwatch as favourite team as this lead directly to the creation of the Authority.

Stormwatch and I'll tell you why. Wildcats has SO many bad issues out there it's sad, where Stormwatch are all good. I could pick up any stormwatch and be happy where as Wildcats is a gamble. And Bendix is the man.
I really loved Wildcats 3.0 but overall favorite team...The Authority.

it really depends. early stormwatch was terrible. but Ellis Stormwatch and Authority was great. Early and Middle Wildcats was so-so, but Casey's Wildcats were phenomenal. so dunno.
