Been wondering about this for awhile. I want to hear anything a reader stated that actually came true in your life.

When I was a teenager, I went to a carnival and a card reader told me that I had a friend that was going to get me into a lot of trouble. She said many other things, but that turned out to be true. My friend and I did get into pretty serious trouble with the law at one point.

What was the time frame for the two?

Oh, I've had accurate psychic readings. I've had accurate fortune cookies and horoscopes, too.

What they weren't was very detailed.

If someone tells you something bad is going to happen to you soon, a flat tire in two weeks is going to be fullfillmet to you.

A couple of years ago, there was a near flame war on the GCD-Chat mail list about Remote readings and such. Will Murray was active in such things and related his experiences and noted skeptics shot at him repeatedly. He held up his end of the discussion very well, and his critics also made very good points.

The whole thing was very entertaining.

Ive had a couple of "psychic" experiences, mostly deja vu sorta things.

I had a tarot card reading that predicted I would end up gettingback with my ex girlfriend. Not long after that, it happened.

I never knew my exgirlfriend was such a good tarot card reader, or that she could read them so well in a hotel room when we were both fairly drunk. Go figure.

Accuracy is not really the issue when it comes to such things, since normally the psychic 'revelations' are so vague and generalised that they will almost undoubtedly come true sooner or later.

I guess I need to know what you mean by "psychic reading." Do you mean sitting down with a palmist, having a tarot reading, or tea leaves? I've seen several that were not vague, and came true quickly, such as a palm reading, which was part of a special screening. The palmist very specifically, down to certain details, identified someone with whom I was having a great deal of difficulty. I'd been told that the program I am in, was coming to an end, and if it did, I'd be done with her. The palmist said, "No such luck." you're going to be dealing with her for months to come," and I still am.

Of other sorts, my brother and I stayed with our next-door-neighbour after school. I'd been home from school for about 15 minutes, when she asked me to help her bake some bread. While this was done regularly in winter, it was unusual for the time of year. We began making the dough, and preparing everything. As my mother pulled in the driveway, and walked over to pick us up, the last loaf was just cool enough to slice. My mother walked through the back door, and smelled the raisin bread, heard the coffee perking, and new something was up. She warily entered the kitchen to find fresh sliced raisin bread, with butter melting on it, and coffee being poured.

"What's wrong?" asked my mother.

"Now I don't want you to be upset," came the reply, "Everything is going to be fine, it was good to quit this job, because he's going to get a new and better one, next week."

An hour later, my father arrived home, and announced that he'd quit his job. A week later, he had a better job.

This is the same woman who used to get up, walk across the kitchen and pick the phone up, before it rang, and answer questions, without anything being said by the person who called. She and her sons were both tested in a para-psychology test at a local college, and all 3 scored extremely high.

Bingo!

In the area of the country where I live, psychics have set up shops in (mostly) the poorer areas, oddly enough.

If they were so damn accurate then why aren't they rich?

Why don't psychics win the lottery every week???

Okay, have you actually seen or heard anything by Weird Al other than the Eat It video? Because he's done alot of things that are very funny.

Had many. Given many. Most obvious one was when I was throwing cards at the Kalapalooza festival one year, and called a girl as being pregnant (no, of course she wasn't showing). I never take such readings and predictions as guides to my life, though. Just as one more factor to think about.

Sure.

I can also talk to people who have crossed over.

Right now, I have Carl Sagan telling me not to believe in psychic readings.

Or that might be Carl the Elevator Repairman.

They sound so alike.

My grandmother went to see a psychic reading in 1969. The reader told her she only saw "darkness" in her future.

Just a few months later, my grandfather died suddenly. My grandmother never fully recovered. Soon after his death, she got cancer. And the kind of cancer where you think you've beaten it, and it comes back. And comes back. And keeps coming back

I ran a psychic tarot reading scam to get Jane Seynour to sleep with me...I cannot believe she fell for it.
