She would have, had she gotten more votes. Now we can demand a recount, petition the courts in Florida or start claiming voter fraud.

Well, if she were being written by Whedon instead of Reggie "Let-me-beat-the-shit-out-of-my-readers-with-my-agenda" Hudlin, I bet she would've won. Her popularity has dropped dramatically, which is a crime.

i don't know. a bunch of us who don't like Cyke right now still think he's the better leader.
Storm is more powerful, has more depth, and is more interesting than Cyke. Being a leader is his only strength, and when his head's in the game, there's only one guy who matches him.

I agree about being more powerful, but ever since Claremont decided to make her the prototype of the "strong, independent and semi-lesbian woman completely in charge of her own life" type he loves, and that was in the early 80's, she has as much depth as an orange juice.

Nah, it's cool. He's totally a better strategist, but she's shown herself to be an incredible tactician and someone with an eye for the big picture. I just wanted an excuse to complain about Hudlin, lol.

No, she lost b/c she choose to go loving on the Panther instead of helping out the mutants.

It's cause the Cyke fans felt cheated cause a powerless Storm whooped his @$$ in continuity, so they figured they'd rig the voting system. I blame it on the Bush's

Well George Bush does hate Black people and apprently when something goes wrong in this country it's always his fault...so why not. Down with Bush!!!

I knew he hated me, luckily, it's only half, cause ya know, he doesn't like latino's either. So, I'm only half hated by that mucker!
But seriously, let's not get into a political debate, cause, I think he's THE WORST PRESIDENT EVER! and you don't.
Storm only lost because Brian Cronin loves and worships Cyclops and decided to close the thread while he was ahead. We never agreed that the first to 102 votes wins the poll. :(

She lost because Marvel turned her into 'Bride of the Panther' and let her join 'Blaxploitation Monthly' - or 'Black Panther' as it's better known.
That book is so 2D you could give it a brief nudge and it would fall over. S
Such a waste.
We did agree on the first to 100 though.

We did? I had no idea (or I forgot :o ) Oh well... if only Jellobay hadn't registered fifty new accounts to vote for Cyclops.....:p

I love Storm, love her to death, however, Cycke is the better tacticican, the guy is 5 steps ahead, even when it looks like he isn't. Oh and I guess if Panther has to be Blaxploitation monthly, I'll take it, how else am I gonna see "any" MU black heroes.

The answer is that other writers should be more inclusive of using black characters where and when they fit.
I'm so glad that Misty Knight is back in action with Heroes for Hire and the recent Daughters of the Dragon series. I'm not saying she's any less 'blaxploitation' than the Black Panther seems to be these days, but at least she's not in limbo.
But what I'd really like to see is a few more, not just black, but multi-ethnic faces in the pages of New Excalibur. I live in the UK, and frankly we are from from the seemingly purely caucasian country we often appear as in Marvel's books. Where are the Asian, Japanese, Italian, Carribean and African Nations characters to reflect the number of people in the UK who come from those ethnic groups? We just don't see them. And that's not right.

You know what's funny, I look at Nocturne like she's black, I know she isn't, but dark skin and dreads basically looks like a black woman to me. However I see what your talking about, Capt Britain is like a walking stereotype, I like Capt Britain, but the guy actually has high tea and crumpets, and wears a british flag.

I don't mind the Flag. That's like his robes of office in the Corps, but yes, I never want to see Brian eating crumpets... :D
That's why Pete Wisdom is so important on that team. He's a more realisatic Brit, and almost the complete antithesis of Brian.
I'd just like somebody to show a few more ethnic characters in the book. If we ever see some more of MI13 in New Excalibur I would expect a few less caucasian faces on show.

Crumpets are cool.
But when drawn in a comic book as Captain Britain hlolding a cup of tea on a saucer and a crumpet on stand by, that really winds me up...
I can remember in an early issue of X-Men they showed Brian doing just this, in full costume, with Kurt with him. The fact that Brian was technically lost in the timestream at the time was quite annoying, and the fact that he wasn't even wearing that costume anymore when he returned even more. But - come on! It's such a daft stereotype.
