It's a Bret Easton Ellis book, which means you can let your eyes glaze over for the first hundred pages. Then it starts getting good.

It's interesting. It is, as Tages said, really, slow for much of the first hundred pages or so. Patrick Bateman is really shallow. He's shallow. He's really very shallow. He wears expensive clothes and dates hot women. Yes, he's shallow. And so on.

After that it gets good. Just bear in mind that it's essentially a very black comedy and social satire. It's not really a thriller or a horror novel, despite the fact that it's very intense and sickening at times.

I liked it from the beggining but don't buy it if your squeamish because it's prety graphic
