I know they will use Sinister more this year which is awesome! As long as it doesn't resemble any of the late Apocalypse stuff....anyway to the point. What do you think of Ahab and Sinister as a pair up. I don't really remember what happend to Rory, but I know he lost limbs and was on his way to becoming Ahab. What do you think of having Sinister upgrade him? Could the two really work togeather?

I think it'd be interesting, after all what with Registration, Sentinels and all that, 616 is coming dagerously close to becoming the DoFP.

Yeah, how completely out of character for her to try and protect the world from a massive threat (that she's intimately tied to on both sides) that if left unchecked could have very serious conseuqences for the universe as a whole.
DOFP isn't back, the details are so different, and frankly the Shi'ar/Vulcan would rank higher on Ray's priority list then Ahab himself would at this point. Not that he's shown his face-but even if he did I have no doubt Ray would have still followed Vulcan given the current circumstances as Ahab without Sentinels and Hounds isn't that much of a threat as Rachel has said herself.
"He's nothing with the Sentinels, and I'm not interested in revenge."

"He's nothing with the Sentinels, and I'm not interested in revenge."Ray isn't interested in revenge, but Ahab is.
And I would have to disagree about Rachel's priorities (from her perspective). Stopping the mutant registration act is what she promised to come back to prevent in the first place. That's why she joined the X-Men, that's why she became Phoenix, that's why she was the most persistent of the remaining surviving X-Men to carry on (as Excalibur). I think accompaning Xavier on his "ego trip" to outer space is a later priority, if it's to be a priority at all. Rachel has never been written more poorly, in my opinion.

Whoa there buddy, I think you're taking the X-editors a little too seriously when they want to portray Vulcan as some undestructable force that can destroy an ancient, enormous alien empire, and who can take down Gladiator, a being who can move 100 times the speed of light and crush planets.

It's not his ego trip. Rachel has a perfectly good reason for travelling to Shi'ar space what with you know the death of half her family. Besides all the mutants are registered in any case and Xavier's has been turned into a concentration camp.
Brubaker has got a good grip on all his characters and Rachel is no exception.

I agree that the Shi'ar probably aren't going to be getting any Christmas cards from Rachel....killing her family and all. And your right we really haven't seen concentration camps or Sentinels for quite awhile :evilsmile

DOFP isn't back, the details are so differentThe details aren't important. It's the concept that matters.

Side question on Ahab... has it ever been clarified if the Ahab from the Twelve storyline was DoFP Ahab or 616 Rory? I'd always assumed the latter, but was never sure?

Ugh I hated Rory Campbell. He should never have been created. The Ahab that was introduced in Days of Future Present should have just been spared from an introduction of an alternate reality counterpart. Rory Campbell just made things confusing and convoluted, and when he first shows up he seemed too much like Alistaire Stuart, whom Lobdell wrote out of the book to make Excalibur more generic.

His appearance (and subsequent disappearance) in that horrible Twelve arc was SO random.

True... but it might be a good way to bring in Sinister.
I kinda like the idea that Apocalypse "birthed" Ahab too... who then went on to "birth" Rachel Summers as a hound... who then went on to destroy Apocalypse in the distant future. :)

who then went on to "birth" Rachel Summers as a hound...This was an idea that was going to be used (with the Shadow King, not Apocalypse) in Excalibur (1st Series) Special Editions #'s 3-4. This story was seen later in X-Men: True Friends #'s 1-3, but the idea you mentioned was only hinted at.

You know, I am a tad disappointed with the choice to spin Uncanny out of Deadly Genesis rather than Civil War, but maybe they'll deal with that after they come back from space and see how badly f---ed things have become in the interim...
