Alright, so who do you like the most, Jean Grey or Emma Frost? I think Emma Frost is cooler than Jean Grey...I like her character and villianish thing about her...and Jean Grey is cool but she can get boring with the Phoenix thing. -_-

I hope Emma hands Jean her lopsided behind in CBRs Top 50 X-Men.

Jean and Cyclops relationship makes me never want to see them together again. I think if Jean does come back it should not be on in x-Men and Cyclops shouldn't be involved.

As Cyclops's wife/lover/girlfriend? Neither, although Jean worked at one point. As characters, probably Jean. I don't like the "one or the other" idea.

I like Jean Grey as the original Phoenix from Uncanny X-Men #101-137. She was written very well in X-Factor #1-70 as Marvel Girl. But I don't like Jean Grey anymore; she's become a parody.

I prefer Emma Frost, the evil White Queen of the Hellfire Club, but, like Jean Grey, Emma Frost has become an unitended parody when written as a hero since she's joined the X-Men after Grant Morrison left New X-Men.

I suppose my answer is none of the above.

I voted for Jean over Emma, but they are almost equal in my mind. Both can be very appealing with the right creative minds, but can be really annoying with a misguided author. They both possess elements that have been taken to extremes (Jean with the Phoenix, Emma with the high class slut act).

I went for Jean because she feels like more real. Plus, as a woman, Emma's look does nothing for me.

Emma. I like Jean too, but she's kind of boring IMO. Plus, we still have her and Scott's boring old relationship over in Ultimate X-men. So I like that things have changed and progressed in the real Marvel U.

If she comes back, I'd like to see her join the Avengers or something. She's too powerful for the X-men anyway.

Emma. As much as I love Jean, I find Emma to be a more intriguing character.

Well I do like them both and it is hard to choose between them. But here is what I'm gonna say: If Jean could caome back minus Phoenix I would be cool with it. I would love for her to portray deep hurt over losing Scott to Emma. Then she should move on and be a mean bitch, not evil just mean. I would like to see her hook up with a close friend of Scott like Warren. Please no Wolverine for her.
But if Jean has to come back with the Phoenix force than I say give me Emma. I would like both actually but I'm no Scott Summers.

Put me in for Emma. She gets better dialogue. And Jean has just become a hollow stereotype without anywhere to go.

Why would they be in a poll about Jean vs Emma? As far as I can see it's nothing about who's better with Cyclops. Retarded poll anyway but what have you.

Because they dated Scott as well. After all, the only reason to compare the two characters is because they have both been coupled with Cyclops. They are two very different characters, with very different powes outside telepathy. It's just an unfair comparison. Especially since you give no real reason for why should we pick either choice. Why is it a Jean vs. Emma poll? What's the 'Versus' have to do with it, if it's just a simple comparison.

What? Little miss eats suns and fancies the pants off Logan? Happy couple relationship? Oh no a happy couple. I think sometimes Morrison's revisionist history is all people know sometimes.

At least with Jean, Scott was his own man and could lead a team!

Okay, okay. Have it your way. I just couldn't order my thoughts about her properly, and I'm not a walking continuity enciclopedia like you guys so the impression I had about her was something like that. Sorry if I'm terribly wrong.
But I do like the way Cyclops is apparently being controlled by Emma.
And yeah, Morrison's run is mostly what I've read, along with some of old Claremont's and the recent work in X-Men and Uncanny, along with Astonishing, so you may say it's "all I know".

Emma, both as a character and as Scott's girl. Jean Grey is one of those characters that are better as a corpse. She only existed to be Scott's girl or the Phoenix, galaxy destroyer, cosmic entity, etc, sometimes both at the same time. And even the Wolverine thing is a copy of Sue Richards' attraction to Namor, the girl who loves the leader, but has also wants to bang the bad boy, very original. Oh, sure she evolved from the least powerful to the most powerful member of the team, helped her husband leading it, and was/is certainly very beautiful, and a grown-up and strong woman... oh, no, wait, that was done with Sue Richards too.

Right now, is pretty much impossible to have her back at the X-men, she's a goddess, and should remain this way. But if she has to come back, she must not have any connection to the Phoenix force anymore, and can't go back to Cyke, not only because he's better with Emma, but also would be interesting to see how she reacts to it. I mean, this is a woman who pretty much got everything she wanted: married the leader of the team, but also had the the good-looking billionaire, the elder founder of the team, and the bad boy all at her feet, and even could kiss the last one more than once and get away with it, was headmistress of the most prestigious school for mutants at the planet when Xavier was away, and pretty surely would be in charge of it and later of all he had after he was gone, had good parents, a family that loved her very much, was so beautiful that could be a super-model if she wanted (and even worked as one for a while), everyone she knew liked her, and was so powerful that could beat pretty much all mutants in the world by herself. A woman like that is not used to loss, and certainly never even thinked about that she could lose the man she loved to another woman, so how she reacts to it could be interesting.

But, again, better off dead.:D

Gah! Voted for Jean by mistake. And she's pretty much my least favorite character in comics ever... At least post-Dark Phoenix.

I REALLY meant Emma. By a lot.

Although I think that the black dude in the background of the 14th panel in the fourth issue of the Howard the Duck movie Adaptation is probably a better character than Jean at this point.

I guess, I'm going to have to stick up for my favorite fiery hottie. "Stereotypical" and "boring?" Must be reffering to someone else.

Stereotypical: a blonde bombshell who is rich, snotty and sassy but inside has a heart of gold...somewhere. And if we look long enough, maybe we'll see it.

Boring: a stereotype of a blonde bombshell who is rich, snotty and sassy but inside has a heart of gold...somewhere. And if we look long enough, maybe we'll see it.

Also, is it Marvel's policy to force X-fans to fight over Jean Grey and Emma Frost? I personally, would rather enjoy both characters. I think I liked Emma best when in her scenes with Jean during Morrison's run.

Allow me to quote the great Bixby Snyder:
"Gee, girls, can I have ya both?"

So far as I can tell, Jean Grey and her Dark Phoenix Saga on Fox is what made the X-Men register for me, and I'm unwilling to break a long-standing attraction on the basis of more skin, blond hair, etc. That is not to say that I don't like E.G. Frost; she just finishes second to Jean.*

Who can't love a fiery redhead who marries the responsible leader with doubt issues, and who has no trouble incinerating a star system for a snack? As best as I can tell at the moment, she's loving, caring, and a good marital partner. Well, when she's not a corpse, anyways.

Similarly, who can't love a sarcastic, spiteful, and scheming gal with blond hair and reasonable capability? One who was introduced to me through the DPS to boot? Besides, she is reportedly responsible for my favorite of the Spider-Friends, Firestar. That's worth something, ain't it?

I don't generally do well as a conciliatory peacemaker, but let us unite around the glorious spectacle that can arise when you have two paragons of mutant beauty co-existing in the same area. Admittedly, there are weaknesses in the theory, inasmuch as one is prone to Phoenix-related complications and the other is occasionally of suspect loyalties. If/when these things happen, call up Lorna Dane and (the British) Elizabeth Braddock from AAA ball on an as-needed basis.

There's room in my X-Men for the both of 'em. Just not er...side by side in day-to-day operations. That could be problematic.

---
*If I was ever given control over the X-franchise, the first thing I'd do is pen a directive with two sentences: 1) Revive Jean Grey; no reconciliation with Scott Summers and have her melt that admantium skeletoned-freak if he makes a move. 2) Give E.G. Summers more clothing, preferably from throat to toe in white with no other skin than her face showing. I'd like to see what the character can do when she's not half-naked.

As far as who I like better, Emma's S&M fashion sense gets my vote easily. White Queen, indeed....

As far as who I prefer in the X-Men, I'd probably go with Jean for tradition's sake, what with her having history back to the original five. Agreed that the whole Phoenix manifestations / resurrection thing is done to death with her, though. I liked Emma better in the Hellfire Club's Inner Circle. But that's just my two cents and it doesn't seem they're headed back that way with her, despite current events in AXM.
