Looking at some of his first appearances, I noticed that there's a yellow outline around his speech bubbles. I always thought it meant he had a high pitched voice, however, someone in another thread commented he has a gravelly voice.

My understanding was that it was Gravelly due to growths on his throat from his skin condition. I don't know if I read this or it just magically popped in my head, but I think that was the case.

It's pretty high-pitched, but that's only when compared to Bea Arthur's.

It was gravelly in X-men Legends 2, but he's said in the comics a few times that it sounds like Demi Moore's voice

Edit: or rather, Cable has described it as a "gravelly, Demi Moore"-like voice. A qwiki-search revealed the truth (by consensus), I was going off memory.

Combining all elements of DP's voice in X-Men Legends II and the comics, it's a voice spoken in fast cadence, varying from gravelly to high pitch depending on his mood and the words.

Like Jiminy Glick?

While I'm not sure how true this is, I like to imagine it sounding like the Great Gonzo's voice.

Because I like the thought of Gonzo killing people.

Like Jiminy Glick?

He's probably the closest to what I imagine DP's voice sounds like.

He sounds exactly like GOB Bluth from Arrested Development. At least that's how I've always read it, even years before AD premiered.

Blind Al described it as the sound of someone who gargles with gravel and gasoline. I don't think its a high pitch since the gravel aspect seems to be reocurring and that makes me think of something more gruff... just my opinion, I'd say he sounds like James Earl Jones with something in his throat but the attitude is more like Robin Williams.

Ugh, that voice in the game was freakin' horrible for him. I always considered his voice to sound like animated Wolverine's, from the FOX "X-Men" cartoon, but raspier and lower.

I don't know, but I've always pictured it as tom servo like (from MST3k), but lower and graver.

It seems to get described as gravely but every once in a while it is described as high pitch. So for the most part I’d say he has a deep voice like James Earl Jones and other times he screams like a little girl.

That's why I go with Gonzo. His voice has an odd, Gravely sound to it, But it's still high pitched.

Yup...sounds raspy kinda Demi moore like, it has been said a few times in the comic.

i've always imagine him sounding like Beetlejuice but, lately, i've been hearing Dennis Leary.

going up and down. but not retarted.

I've always thought his voice had a regular pitch, but it was hollow and a little echo-y, like some Transformers or (a little more obscure, I know) Dio's voice in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure when he's activated 'The World.'

He sounds exactly like GOB Bluth from Arrested Development. At least that's how I've always read it, even years before AD premiered.

For me, the GOB Bluth of the Marvel Universe is Speed Demon, ever since Grummett started drawing him in Thunderbolts. Take a look at him unmasked in the strip club in the early issues of New Thunderbolts . . . replace Joystick and Blizzard with Franklin and a couple of Hot Cops and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

That definitely works, too. But I think Deadpool when I hear, "Steve Holt is a bastard. He doesn't even know who his father is!"

See I can picture that Deadpool on segway riding up behind cable and just going "Micheal" in that style of voice. Well is'nt Ryan Reynolds more or less in the running for the role if ever a movie is to be made so I assume they'll try and make him sound like that. This is a assumption mind you.

Also...is'nt this like the longest conversation about Deadpool like...ever at CBR?

I think it's devolved more into a conversation about GOB.

Steve Holt: I've made a huge mistake.
GOB: I know the feeling. I had you. I'm your father, Steve Holt. I can't hide from it any more.
Steve Holt: I won't forget this . . . Dad.
GOB: [swallows roofie] I will . . . I will.

Which is basically the same gimmick as Demi Moore. Like a high pitch voice, but all messed up. Or like Brian Johnson, the singer from AC/DC.

I hated the way he sounded in the video games. I kinda imagined something like the robot in the Iron Giant, only a bit higher and less metallic sounding.

And who has a voice like that? I think the video game did a good job considering no one in the world has a voice like the one described in the comics.
