Tenebrous and Aegis beat Silver Surfer and Galactus. My question is, what are their powers, and are they equal to eachother?

I have been wondering that myself. Also how did they slug it out with Galactus after being trapped in a prison for eons? It seems like they should be somewhat weakend by that whole ordeal.

Tenebrous and Aegis appear to be two beings very similar to Galactus. So, I guess their powers come from the Power Cosmic. I also suppose they can do about as much as Galactus with it.

To be fair, they had been out of the Kyln for at least six months before beating down Galactus and the Surfer.
If they're anything like Galactus, one good meal brings 'em back to full power.

Well, we don't know for certain what they eat. One good meal may be hard to come by.
While some characters have the power cosmic, these two in particular appear to have the cosmic power to kick the $#!t out of Galactus. That about sums it up.

Well, Tenebrous and Aegis have their own honorifics.
Tenebrous of the Darkness Between Stars
Aegis of Sorrow
Meaning that Tenebrous may feed on Dark Matter, and Aegis on negative emotions. If so, both currently have far more readily available food than Galactus, considering a) they're in space, and b) it's a war.

Galactus and Tenebrous looked fairly even when they were at it one on one, it was when Aegis joined in that it turned, so them being roughly equal would be a safe assumption methinks.

Well, except that Tenebrous didn't have any noticeable damage and Galactus did. But Andy's already admitted that that shouldn't have been.
Personally, I think it's possible that these two are aspects or embodiements of Infinity and Oblivion which might be revealed later in the story.
But then again, who knows?

Another thought comes to mind. If Tenebrous and Aegis are as powerful as Galactus, isn't it possible that they suffer from a similar hunger (devouring planets) as he does?

Hmm, that's very possible. If they do suffer from the same hunger, I feel bad for any planets in their path considering they won't care about destroying life.

Remember that Galactus needs to feed off planets because the bulk of his power is being used to keep Abraxas in check... Tenebrous and Aegis may not need to feed at all, like most cosmic entities.
And yeah, Tenebrous and Aegies were supposed to have shown some damage after the fight. So they're about even with Galactus (actually, I'd wager Tenebrous is about even and Aegis is a little below them both).

Yeah, it's clear they are at a similiar level to Galactus, but I think they just got lucky in thier first fight with Galactus.
I have a guess on thier origin though, I think they are from Taa just like Galactus. At one point after Galactus entered the universe he ejected some of his "lifeless" companions into space. Maybe they weren't dead and that's why they have a bone to pick with Galactus, and I think thier names fit characters who were drifting endlessly in space for a long time.

That was their original idea, but no. Seems they decided to keep Galan unique.
Thanos already implied their origin when he called them proemial beings...

I'd love to SAY that they just got lucky against the Big G. But just look at them... Galactus armor was cracked and damaged, while the other two didn't have a scratch on them.
It's like Galactus didn't do anything to them. I don't know whether the intended to make them come off tougher than Galactus, but that's how it ended up looking.

Andy's already said that was an art mistake. Surfer looked at least strong enough to cause some discomfort to Aegis.
