Annhilation wave, millions of death, Galactus being defeated, Thanos planning something, where is Mephisto in all this? I think it's pretty shocking to not see him during this.

I am glad for a change that this mini doesn't follow the same formula as the infinity mini series. So here is to hoping he stays away because this conflict really doesn't affect him.

Well, we don't know what Thanos is planning with Galactus or with his alliance with Annihilus but Mephisto doesn't like to have someone out there stronger than him.

Where has Mephisto been? I think the last time we saw Mephisto was in Slingers. (Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong.) Maybe it's the lack of Strange and Surfer having mags, or maybe it's the lack of opportunities for using him, given the stories that are being written. In either case, he just hasn't been seen. I'd almost be willing to bet he's stopped being a major force in the Marvel universe.

Side note: Who is that in Ghost Rider? Lucifer...

I think his last apperance was in House of M.

It seems no one working at Marvel read Slingers anyhow...

Lucifer is Lucifer. The Prince of Darkness. Satan. But . . . that could change.

On topic: As much as I would like to see Mephisto in this mini, I don't think he would really fit in or would have a good reason to be in it.

For all that he started out in Silver Surfer's rogues gallery, I really don't like seeing Mephisto involved in "big" events. He's much more effective in smaller, more personal stories.

I would imagine he's pretty busy gathering the souls that are released as the wave destroys. That, and what's to say he's not in disguise? He is a version of the Great Deceiver, after all...

When ever I see a topic called "where is whoever" I can't help but want to blurt out , "He's at home, Washing his tights!"

He appeared in House of M? Doing what? And was he the same (as he should be)?

Here's the best reference you're going to find to marvel's satan.
http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/mardukkurios.htm

and yes, mephisot has claimed to be him. Just about ever demon worth his salt has calimed to be Satan. that doesn't make them the real thing though.

And for that matter, Mephisto is typically shown to be stronger than Satan anyway.

Hahahahha.
I just have a hard time seeing Mephisto as a cosmic villain. Don't get me wrong, I know that there is a ton of support there dictating he is, but really on a cosmic scale, he's a small blip.

Is he Mephisto?

So far, no. I think Marvel might be trying to actualy establish a real, bonifide Satan in the new Ghost Rider series.

Why would Mephisto be involved in this ?!

Why should any cosmic beings other than Galactus be involved in this ?

It's the same as Kree/Skrull War or Operation Galactic storm , it's none of their business what happens in space. Galactus are only involved because of those 2 whatever their names is that has a grudge against him.

I agree with your general idea here, but Galactus is also involved because even without Tenebrous and Aegis the Wave would not have let him be. They are interested in the Power Cosmic and even though they lack the power to really do anything to him they could annoy him and possibly have taken him out on their own if they waited until he was hungry and trying to feed adn then destroyed the world or something. ITs just this made the threat bigger for Galactus, than it would have been otherwise.

The abstracts may think about getting involved at some point if Galactus is in extreme danger of death but even then who knows. Just because if Galactus dies Eternity and Death go into stasis and the universe ends etc.

Galactus has died plenty of times , by Abraxis and during his mini. The abstracts whatever have never been involved and will never be involved.

Abraxas never killed this Galactus.

Abraxas never killed this Galactus.

Irrelevant , abstracts are going to play any role in this type of story. People are talking like eternity/infinity/Mephisto/Odin/whatever have to step in because some space bugs is declaring war ?

They shouldn't. And won't. It's been made pretty clear the abstracts are sticking their heads out of this one...

I'm glad they are. Satan so far in Ghost Rider is a total evil bastard. Which is what he should be...

Mephisto collects souls for his domain. This war doesn't affect or involve him directly, unless he could claim souls by default. Not his show.

Also, he only appears to achieve something, related to his wanting souls. It's just like in Slingers were he held the Black Marvel's sould captive in order to attempt to trap the noble souls of the Slingers. Annihilation is giving him enough souls, even many noble ones, that he probably doesn't feel the need to use any kind of coercion.

He's probably sitting back enjoying the show , as is Agamotto who probably enjoyed Galactus getting smacked down more than most since the Big G did destroyed some of his precious memory bubbles when they fought years back. :D

I would be surprised to see Mephisto at all in Annihilation. Because it isn't his thing.

Not this time, Mephisto's with Ka-Zar knitting a cosmic loin cloth in the Savageland :D
