I've been reading about the on again-off again movie rumours for some time, and was wondering, if you guys had the power to cast a new He-Man movie, who would you cast?
I'm not sure if I can think of someone to play He-Man. Dolph Lundgren actually did alright back in the day, but I have no idea who's out there now who can replace him (most can improve on the acting, to be sure). Maybe someone like the Rock? With a wig? He's got the charisma, for sure, and the build.
Teela would be played to perfection by Jessica Alba, I think.
Man-At-Arms, Bruce Willis Maybe?
I think even the aged Frank Langella would still pull off a GREAT Skeletor (as bad as the movie was, he OWNED that roll).
Evilynne... maybe Angelina Jolie?
What say you all?

Screw He-Man. They should do another Conan. That would be way better then He-Man.

well there's no reason that they can't make both.
i've really got no clue who could play a decent He-Man. there's always the old stand-by of an unknown. it seems to work well for Superman after all. i guess the Rock could work well enough. the only other person that i could even think of might be the guy that played Samantha's last actor boyfriend, Smith Jarrod i think it was, on Sex in the City.
Langella reprising his role as Skeletor would be interesting. he promised us he'd be back at the end of the last movie and i'd hate to find out that Skeletor was a liar. if not him than Ian Mcdiarmid of Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious fame. he's proven that he can do evil/pricky/devious as good as anyone, if not better.
for Man at Arms i thought that maybe Tom Selleck might work. if nothing else, he's already got the mustache and he's the right age for the role.
Jessica Alba as Teela is just palin brilliant casting. whomever thought of this one must be a genius.

My friends and I have talked about this one more than any fanboys got a right. We were thinking Health Ledger for He-Man, pre-Brokeback Mountain, primarily because of his performance in A Knight's Tale. The Prince Adam scenes could be filmed first, with a three month hiatus for Ledger to beef up, then film the He-Man scenes, like Hanks did (but the other way around) for Castaway. Man, we thought of this years ago now, so Ledger is probably too old to pull off the young careless prince shtick.
Picture him as Adam:http://www.moviemantz.com/review_shots/knightstale.jpg
Jean Reno as Man-at-Arms. Alyssa Hannigan as Teela (although Alba is an obvious choise, as well, for Teela or She-Ra). The Rock as Stratos, or maybe Beast-man. Ray Park as Skeletor, maybe with a Mark Hammill voice over. Ethan Suplee as Ram-man. Fairuza Balk (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000103/)as Evil-Lynn. For Skeletor's major cronies, I would take a page out of the X-Men playbook and cast wrestlers that want to break into the biz. A few grunts under some heavy prosthetic might change their mind.
I know we had others cast, but the first new He-Man movie of a franchise wouldn't ensemble themselves out of a sequel. What do you think?

Sure but why settle for the kid friendly Conan when you can get the real deal?
And Conan is infinitely cooler. No lame ass Prince Adam secret idenity, no Orco, no Skunk Man or Moss Man or whatever that smelly ass toy was.
Plus Conan has better hair.

Mossman was kinda cool, but he did smell odd.
but the smelly villian you're probably thinking of is Stinkor whom you can view here (http://www.he-man.org/primary_sects/toys/html/collector_guides/motu_class/toy_pages/stinkor.shtml).
as for He-Man vs Conan. both are cool and neat and He-Man can be silly in a way that isn't always good for Conan.

I LOVED the old He-Man movie, and was amazed that they managed to pull something so great, out of such a hackneyed concept.
Why not bring Courtney Cox back, either in the roll she played then, or as Evilynne?
Langella could still be Skeletor.
I'm not sure who the current body-builder/actor is, but there has to be ONE among the throng, who can step into the roll of He-Man.
I'd go all out for the weird, when it comes to the Sorceress, and go for Bjork!

Now THAT would be cool. As an older woman now, she looks a lot like you'd expect an actress to look to play Evilynn.

She'd be right at home wearin' a bunch of feathers!

Maybe get her objet-trouve, Matthew Barney to do the production design, if not helm the movie. It would be an experience that no one would EVER forget!!!

Since Jessica Alba is Sue Storm, and will probably be in the next Sin City movie, I think there's probably limit to comic properties she's going to want to do. I think someone like Amber Tamblyn or Alexis Bledel would be good considerations, and Jason Lewis, or possibly flash-in-the-pan "Tarzan," Travis Fimmel would make a good "He-Man." I like the idea of Selleck as "Man-at-arms."

you know what used to piss me off? Stinkor is obviously just a Mer-man action figure with a paint job. look at the head.

likely not one that's overly silly or even overtly silly. nevertheless the hero is called He-Man; there's obviously some inheirent silliness in the concept.
and that's part of what's fun about it.

Okay... it's time people stopped suggesting roles for Jessica Alba, BECAUSE SHE CAN'T ACT TO SAVE HER LIFE!
I will not go to see any movie with Jessica Alba in it. She makes films worse. I don't care how HAWT she is, she can't act!

Like I said before I could care less about this movie. If it's goo I'll see it if it's bad I'll miss it. But at last it's not as bad as this crap.

yeah the first He-Man and the Masters of the Universe movie has already been brought up a few times and to be honest, given the talent involved and the resources at their disposal it's really not all that bad of a movie.
as for Jessica Alba ...
i know it's terrible of me to say this but when you look like her i am willing to forgive the acting which might be bad. the woman is a goddess and i do not use that term lightly.
