ECW Review: " The Sabu/spot ratio ? "

This weeks ECW sees a rematch many online mocked as Sabu missing some big hardcore spots. He seemingly keeps his push due to the fact that he's an over guy and ECW needs its over workers.

Onto great NEWS.

The Hulk Hogan DVD will have an extra 4th disc in Europe for fans there. Roddy Piper's DVD will be an hour and 45 minutes detailing his story. The WWE was unable to find any surviving Piper footage from California. But they have tons of Portland footage.

Mean Gene Okerland shot a shoot this week with RF Video.

The ECW PPV will now happen on December 3rd and be called " ECW: December to Dismember " . It will take place at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center in Augusta Georgia .

WWE has filed a trademark for " Crime Time ".

WWE RAW scored a 4.1 Cable Rating this past week.
Onto ECW....

The Good:

ECW starts with an Extreme Bikini contest which I'm wondering where its gonna go. It pretty much features Torrie Wilson and Kelly as a mostly ECW crowd ignores Kelly. The result is Mike Knox and Test as they come down and pull her outta the contest .

Tommy Dreamer and Sandman come down as the match is thrown down by Sandman. Its a 6 man/woman tag with Torrie kicking Kelly's ass good. Fans enjoy that and slowly get into the match as they cheer the ECW Icons on.

Finally , the ECW guys kick Test and Knox's asses as Tommy Dreamer nails the DDT from hell on Knox for the pin. It was needed finally as Tommy scores the win after taking a sh-tload of punishment.

Backstage Paul Heyman isn't in a good mood. He tries to talk Big Show outta this match as Show says he's in his element and that Sabu can't use tables , ladders and chairs as its not Extreme Rules.

Hmmm what an awesome promo by Matt Striker. This guy has a Steve Corino vibe going on and I can't wait to see this guy go into Hammerstein with the whole " I'm a smarter guy than you " gimmick and blackboard. He's gonna be a great heel in this brand.

In ring we see that Kevin Thorne will face Balls Mahoney in the Extreme Rules match. I really am digging this Thorne character. Its so un-old school ECW that it clicks . I'm happy Fertig is really getting over in New ECW. Him and Ariel make quite a team in ECW. He gets the win and looks impressive puttin Balls on his shoulders.

CM Punk comes out to do his standerd good match on ECW. This week he gets the former C.W Anderson renamed....Christopher W. Anderson. This is a pretty damn good short match. Punk and Anderson go thru some mat stuff and we see Punk nail his spots in time.

Thus far Punk and Thorne are the best rookies in ECW. Punk is over and fans like the guy . I really wanna see a Best of 7 series for the ECW TV Title at some point with him and Rob Van Dam.

Backstage again Paul Heyman tells a mystery guy in detail that he made Hardcore. That everyone didn't want him there. The ca,era pans back as its Hardcore Holly. The entire look and all is him pissed as Paul butters him up and whispers that someone didn't want him there as Holly makes an angry face. Ok....now thats how ya bring someone in and Holly didn't say 1 damn word.

Sabu cuts a small promo saying he's gonna beat Big Show tonight. Pretty confident.....I wished they bring in Bill Alphonso as his manager and have him screw Show. Be priceless....:D

In ring is Rob Van Dam who is back to working his way back up. I sorta know that Rob's gonna have to work his way back up the ladder again backstage and onscreen. He and Danny Doring have a pretty solid match as Rob looks into it tonight. Then Holly attacks him and leaves him laying with a steelchair as fans boo.

Holly tells Rob thats for disrespecting him backstage and all. Rob looks up the ramp pissed as this could be a very awesome fued for fans.

Big Show/Sabu starts and Big Show is totally in control beating down the smaller genicidial maniac . Fans start a " Big Show sucks " chant as Big Show tells em loudly what he thinks. Show is way....way too cocky in this match.

Show taunts Sabu loudly in this. Fans are behind Sabu in this and as the match goes the ref goes down. Sabu decides to f-ck Big Show up and grabs a steelchair and takes the big man down. After using the chair to punish Show and nearly score a 3 count , Sabu grabs the ring bell and starts threating the referee and Big Show !

After bloodying and destroyin Show , Sabu stands tall as the insane maniac he is. Sabu is a wildman baby...and he could give a damn about winnin the title besides making Show bleed like a hog !


The Bad Shannon Moore's promos are getting old slowly. When is the guy gonna finally show up ? Also when is CM Punk gonna take on a Main Event star in ECW and showcase that ability ?

ECW is building a great lineup. Maybe its time to add a mid-card title and establish the ECW Mid-card now.


OVERALL : ***1/2 Outta 5. The matches could have been longer but we saw some solid stuff with RVD/Doring , Punk/Anderson and Sabu destroying Show to continue their fued towards Survivor Series.

thorne and ariel really click in the ring and he isnt that bad of a grappler.

cm punk is awesome as usual.

bob holly coming on board and fucking up RVD was the best thing you can do with holly. no promos, no words, just asskicking. i cant wait for this match.

and sabu/big show killed it. sabu just said "fuck it. i dont give a shit! i'm beating his big ass!"

Sabu was good tonight. He kept things simple. Repeatedly bludgeoning Big Show with the ring bell was nice, but how many times can Big Show go through a table before he starts dreaming about it.

Hardcore Holly will fit nicely into this ECW. Shannon Moore needs to shut up and wrestle already. His promo tonight consisted of four of the weakest, dumbest words for a wrestler to say, I don't care what your gimmick is.

I could not stomach Balls losing to that metrosexual of darkness. But Ariel and her assets were around. She helped ease the pain.

I said it before and Im gonna say it again. Ariel has luscious knockers, Damien needs a more menacing look but I find him pretty entertaining.

Shannon Moore needs to debut because Im getting sick of his promos. C.W Anderson and Bob Holly had a much quicker debute than he did.

Heyman is still a much better heel GM than Vince since Paul doesn't Ham it up as much as Vince does.

Hayabusa missed a lot more spots than Sabu does. And people still talk about how much fun his matches were to watch. Sabu has been blowing up, lighting himself on fire, going thru steel wood and crashing down on concrete for 20+ years.

Not only is he more likely to blow spots simply because he does more. But he is also wearing down physically from all the abuse and his age. People that complain really should see what he used to put himself thru. It's a miracle he can even walk now.

Missed the first 30 minutes and caught the RVD/Doring match with Holly coming it. Holly SUCKS. Hopefully RVD dominates him in whatever feud they are supposed to be generating. Sabu being reckless is fun to watch. He didn't mess up this week for once. A shame I missed CM Punk/Anderson and Vampire Girl. That's never good.

If you've looked at my Reviews I have put Show over for his work as ECW World Champion. How hard he's worked and all. I wasn't happy at 1st but he's done very well.

Holly could be a good fit in ECW. Has the intense look and act to make it anyhow.

Wow, I guess Vince McMahon really does hate Francine, in that he borrowed Torrie Wilson from RAW to do the bikini spot segment for TV, even though Francine has been doing that with Kelly in house shows. P.S. How dare you steal Stacy Keibler's ring entrance, Kelly! She's barely been gone!

Matt Striker and Hardcore Holly now? They keep bringing in new people, they don't have time for everyone as it is. I'm glad Holly is alive, although I was never a huge fan of his to begin with. I could see him fitting in.

I'm slowly warming up to Kevin Thorn and Ariel. It's a good gimmick after all.

Well unlike most people Im gonna give it a few weeks until I voice my opinion on if Holly fits in or not. As of right now I see good potential in a RVD vs Bob Holly feud.

I'm liking Thorn and Ariel a lot more than I thought I would. Of course, Ariel's in a battle with Melina for the greatest ring entrance in the history of professional wrestling, and that doesn't hurt.

It would be nice if Shannon Moore could just wrestle a match. Until then, I've got to know who put him in the corner. Who, dammit, who?!?

Sabu vs. Show was decent. I still think they've got better matches between 'em, though. Although I don't usually enjoy watching people blowing spots, it actually kind of works to promote Sabu as completely unpredictable. You're never sure if he's going to kill himself or his opponent with any given move, and I've got to admit that keeps me on the edge of my seat during his matches.

Hot Babes, 5 matches, Matt Striker promo, and a bloody Big Show make for a good ECW show. Ariel and Kelly are super hot and just keep getting hotter, Torrie Wilsons picture is in the dictionary under the word Sexy.

I really like the Thorn match, Ive never found Balls Mahoney to be cool(Like the name though) but him getting his ass kicked by a vampire makes him cool. I think that whenever Gangrel comes back him and Thorn are gonna be a tag team.

CM Punk is my favorite wrestler in ECW right now. He has alot of talent and can really move around the ring and work those kicks. Didnt know who C.W. Anderson was but I expected him to be bigger.

HARDCORE HOLLY!!! Ive been waiting for him to come back and to put him in ECW is awesome. Hes a tough as nails wrestler and he even has an extreme name. I figured that RVD would get attacked by Holly and im happy, I like RVD(but im not his biggest fan) but enjoyed watching him get the Alabama Slam.
