pretty dang powerfull
The blame wasnt just on Bush surprsinly
(Although he did take a hard hit)
Well done, spike didnt show himself to much. Strong images. You get a good idea of how everything fail apart. I now confirm my hate of the mayor, The president, the governor, and fema
It two parts
The first part has 2 acts
This was the first 2
the next 2 acts tommorow
I'm going to watch it tonight at 10:00 when they have the second showing.
I am really looking forward to seeing this film, notonly because it is about such an important subject, but also because one of our greatest living directors is the guy who made it.
I'm glad to hear that it was as good as I am hoping it was.

shit i missed it...
I just finished part III and IV of this exceptionally well done documentary by Spike Lee.
Last night on parts I and II, Lee did a great job of detailing the events of September 2005 and following the reactions of all the various levels of government.
Tonight on parts II and IV, the narrative concentrated much more on the individual stories of the people of New Orleans, and how their lives and families have been changed and torn apart
The film, clearly shows the failures on all levels of government to take control of the situation, but holds special anger and contempt, and in my opinion deservedly so, toward the slow and almost uncaring reaction of the Federal government.
It is a movie well worth watching, and I challenge anyone, no matter what their political leanings, to listen to people tell the stories of having children ripped from their arms into the floodwaters, or returning home six months later only to discover the body of their decayed mother and not be moved.
On a technical level, Lee is a brilliant director. He knows when to let the camera linger and when to move on. His shots are well thought out and almost always highly effective. He even manages a cool artistic bit at the very end of the film to introduce all of the people who he spoke too.
See this movie.

PRETTY DARN GOOD
1) Like how they kept there sense of Humor. Like a madi gra had shirts that said stuff like "Fema Evacaution plan- RUN mother F'er run" or the white guy wearing a shirt "Chocalte City..with vaninla center. Even had a cute little kid with a fake beard saying "He waited for fema now look at them"
2) It made me hate insurance companies. Well sir you have hurricane insurace but it was really the flood which cause the damage. Well you got flood insurace..but the rain could of cave the roof in not the flood
3) Lil facts about the city. The ounce apparenly bomb the levees to save the rich areas, On sundays and christmas slave had the day off there and use to play music, the music and stuff. Why the leeve were build they way there are. About there Oil and how much resource we get from that place, but apparenly they dont get the cash from the oil

Politically the only part that really bothered me was Harry Belafone once again going on about what a swell guy Hugo Chavez is. He should try living in Venezuela for a while and see what happens when you criticize the leader there.
The urban legends of dynamiting the levees was addressed reasonably, you can see why residents would believe that. Especially if was actually done in the 1920s.
Lee is a damn fine filmaker...although "She Hate Me", was terrible. Just terrible.

.
thats probably the only way to really find out as everything reported about him seems to be counter terrorist propaganda.
