I'm not saying Jane Hoffman is out of line, but I don't think what E! wanted to do (as I understand it) is out of line either. A little early? Probably, but then I'm sure alot of people would feel that it'll alwasys be too soon for such a show.

I think it's fair to deny someone the licensing rights to footage if you know they're going to be glib and insensitive about a very sensitive subject. The fact that it's news that someone actually called out someone for that insensitivity is what upsets me.

Janie Hoffman rocks!

Entertainment reporting has traditionally crossed all coneeivable boundaries, but in recent years, with E!, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, Xtra, A Current Affair, etc. what was once intense coverage has turned to flat out surveillance. It's refreshing to see someone with the balls to call the sleaze merchants out, and shine a light on them. What E! was looking to do, and will probably still do, regardless, is a low-brow, highly sensational and selacious reportage of something that ought always to be handled tastefully and with tact. If nothing else, this demonstrates that Pantera has an A1 publicist who will got to the wall for them!

What reason do you have to assume that they will? All of their documentaries of that sort that I've seen don't resememble what you seem to expect at all.

What part of "25 Most Chilling Hollywood Murders" sounds like a sensitive, serious program?

You're not answering the question. For anyone who actually watches the network it's easy to tell between their campy stuff and their serious stuff (which they do a good deal of). Hell, most of the E-True Hollywood stories tend to take things really seriously even when they don't really deserve it.
