Did anyone catch this on the History Channel the other day? I caught the last hour. The goal of the show was to examine the story from the second book of the Torah, Bamidbar aka Exodus.

I found it to be very well done. They used a lot of flashy computer graphics, but all-in-all they made several strong arguments. Obviously I'm a bit baised in the direction of "yes, it happened", so that may help things along, but there were some interesting thoughts and concepts.

It was very interesting how they explained the 10 plagues. The death of the firstborn was a little too far out for some of my devout friends (being that the firstborn was the only one allowed to sleep on a bed on the floor) but I believed it.

I liked the show. Yeah, the whole firstborn sleeping on the floor was kind of something I've never even heard of before. But, hey the show was awesome.

Same here. While one may argue a fine point here and there, the evidence in favor of the Exodus account being substantially factual is pretty overwhelming.

Awesome special. I saw the whole thing last night (since I don't have access to the National Geographic Channel, and couldn't watch the Fight Science special.) The presentation and the arguments given were strong. It was especially cool to see how there could be scientific explanations for ten plagues. But, I was confused as to the explanation of the chronology of the ten plagues as well as the parting of the Red Sea. Did he say that it all happened within a couple of days, or a a couple of months?

The chronology is imprecise because the volcano that destroyed Minos erupted over a lengthy period. It's entirely possible that a series of large explosions and/or earthquakes (they mentioned "earthquake storms" as I recall) could have been going on for weeks or possibly months, dying down for a bit then re-erupting afresh.
