A while ago, I was watching the movie Kill Bill and I was really impressed with that Japanese actress who played Gogo, the schoolgirl who serves as bodyguard of a Yakuza. My favorite part of the movie was during the fight of Gogo and the main character player by Uma Thurman. Because of my curiosity, I searched the internet and looked for links about that Japanese actress. According to my research, the name of that cute Japanese actress is Chiaki Kuriyama. She has appeared already in other movies like Ju-on and Shikoku, which are both horror films.
Even if this girl appears mostly in horror films, she herself is not scary at all. In fact, I am also fascinated with her personality because that was the first time that I encountered a Japanese actress in a Hollywood film. And I think it’s great to see that our Asian counterparts are able to penetrate Hollywood already. It really shows that they appreciate arts and they’re willing to share their talents to the rest of the world.
Because of what she has shown in that Kill Bill movie, I am pretty sure that she will have more movies in her name in the years to come.

She was brought into Kill Bill by Tarantino because of Battle Royale. Tarantino was a huge fan of that movie . If you haven't seen Battle Royale , go watch it now. Kuriyama also played a crotch stabbing psycho schoolchick in that one. :D
Another great movie you should check her out in "Last Quarter" .

Actually don't. Go out and buy the book instead. Actually, you should see the movie, but see it first before you read the book, because compared to the book, the movie is a steaming pile of donkey feces.
And as for the actress, I totally loved her in Kill Bill, which is what piqued my curiosity in BR in the first place.

You're kidding, right? Japanese actresses have been in a slew of "Hollywood" blockbusters (unless you're only talking about action movies or whatever).
Joy Luck Club anyone?

Didn't the Joy Luck Club (and Memoirs of a Geisha, for that matter) have Chinese actresses?
Although I am embarassed to admit this (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showpost.php?p=3063342&postcount=187), I find myself attracted to Chiaki Kuriyama.

Some were Chinese, some were Americans of Chinese extraction. I think the only one who was actually japanese was Tamlyn Tomita.
I believe all three of the female leads in Geisha were ethnic Chinese.

That beats " Soccer Mom " as a role to aim for.
