Anyone know if BRB is going to be taking part in this? I hope they do use him and get him off earth and get rid of the joined with a human thing. I hated the end of the Stormbreaker mini, and the sooner it is undone and Bill is put right the better in my eyes.

According to Andy . . .I actually could have used Beta Ray Bill, but I didn't have a great character arc for him in ANNIHILATION. I'd rather have no Beta Ray Bill than lackluster BRB.

He's living on Earth now anyway (with his new human alter ego Simon Walters ;) ) so his involvement would've gotten in the way of the developments set out by Mike Oeming and (conveniently enough) Andrea DiVito in their Thor Disassembled and the Stormbreaker mini stories.

You know, I would like to see Ronan's hammer and Beta Ray's hammer clash. It seems like the obvious answer is Beta Ray's hammer is more powerful, by far ... but you never really know.

I do believe Eric Masterson Thor contested his hammer against Ronan's universal weapon in galactic storm.

Thats what I am saying. I HATE the human alter ego and Bill even being on Earth. I thought Stormbreaker was an awesome mini until that last issue turned into complete and utter garbage in my eyes. Serioulsy i hated it that much. I would not even care if Bill just showed up for two panels in Annihilation just to show that that stupid human thing had been reveresed and he was not on Earth at all. They ruined alot of what I loved about the character with that one piss poor idea.

I dunno, I'm really intriqued to see what they do with Bill/Simon.
Yeah, I kinda groaned out annoyance a little when I first read that part of my TPB, but then I kinda toyed around with some ideas/stories and then it didn't seem so bad.
Though like most changes, I assume it'll be retconned/done away with within a year or two if official stories involving him don't exactly work out. Besides, I'd like to at least see a post-CW year/year and a half of stories with Bill and his Simon alter-ego.
But that's my two cents.
(And I'm surprised I didn't respond to this sooner...)
So it's my impression that Beta Ray Bill will be in the new Alpha Flight book (titled Omega Flight).
Unless it's Thor, but.... well... hmmmm.

I think the only other way to have ended it would be to have Bill search for a suitable planet for the Korbinites still alive within the meta orb but I don't think Bill knows where it is anyway so it's hard for me to think up of a better place to put the character.
At the very least we'll see him more on earth.

How is biil's personality any different to that of thors? From appearances I've seen there wasn't much difference in my opinion.

Different priorities. Thor is a god by birth and has choosen to protect the mortals of Earth. Bill is an alien created to protect the Korbanites and happened to be worthy to hold Mjolnir and became Beta Ray Bill. They fought for it and Bill won and Odin made him Stormbreaker and everyone was happy.
Bill is just an alien compared to Thor's god by birth. They have the same powers, same outlook on things, but Thor is more into the whole fighting thing. Bill thinks nothing against honorable combat and enjoys it to some extent but is not a warrior born like the Asgardians and tires of it at times. Besides that they are basicly the same character, the two are Oath Brothers and share virtually everything so what can you expect? I think its just what they set out to do with their powers that separates them plus the fact that Bill is not Thor and has his own mindset before hand so that factors in, he is able to think outside of the box a bit more than Thor is.

Does anyone know how Bill survived the ragnarok story when the first Thor series ended? I could have sworn i recall some art in those pages where he is dead with his tongue hanging out.

LOL! Good one... After Toronto's announcement, it's clear Oeming's sending him North of the Border (maybe he'll pass through Vermont, I'll keep my eyes open).

Good question... in Marvel.com: ( http://www.marvel.com/universe/Beta_Ray_Bill ) all I could find is this, and I have no idea when, chronologicaly it takes place:
At one point, a mysterious disease seemed to kill the Korbinites, but they were able to be revived. Bill spent time in space as part of the Star Masters, and was called to join his fellow hammer wielders Thor, Thunderstrike, and Dargo Ktor to battle as the Thor Corps. His body briefly was reconfigured to use cosmic rather than mystical powers through a special synthesis by Odin and the Silver Surfer.

It took place at the same time as the Lost Gods storyline happened, when Mighty Thor reverted to Journey into Mystery, and Odin was hoarding all of his mystical energy to protect the Asgardians from Ragnarok.
