Well, I was just browsing the site when it occured to me.... a few months ago- back in May, just before Civil War #1 arrived... where did you think we'd be come the middle of August?
Personally I thought we'd be more in the thick of the war. I imagined different titles as presenting different facets- battles being played out in the tie-ins and not even in the main series. I imagined CW 2 would start the war (the way CW 3 did) and that when there was a major battle in the main title, the tie-ins would explain that particular character's part. I also reckoned Hawkeye would be back by now.
Now in some ways I wish that was true- I wish we were seeing more action, and I DEFINITELY wish we were seeing more hero vs hero instead of hero vs SHIELD. In other ways, I prefer what IS happening- I loved the unmasking, and the return of Thor was spectacular. But overall, I never saw us being in quite the position we are in.
So... where did you guys think we would be?

Yeah, I thought there would be more War and less Civil.
By this time I'd have thought somebody would be dead and they'd have introduced a big new character...I didn't expect the big reveal at the end of CW#3.
Not disapointed at all, since I'm enjoying the story, but I hope #4 comes out ASAP.

I figured we would be in the same place. There seems to have been more fighting in the tie-ins that I have read than in the regular series.

I Dont have any expectations becuse this is the first issue bassed storyline i have ever read. Im new to comics for the last year all iv'e read is TheWalkingDead which got my into comics. In the last month iv'e read House of M, Decimation, Avengers dissasembled, new avengers, young avengers, amoung many ultiamate titales. So far i think civil war is best

I thought it would be a lot slower, I thought we would have a Cap issue and a Tony issue and then at three Cap would turn. I didn't think that they would unmask spider-man in issue 2 or that they would start fighting on issue 3. I didn't think that the Fantastic Four would have such a huge subplot in the series. I thought we would be seeing much more of the Survivors of Stanford and the political/SHIELD type stuff.
Its going to be 4 and 5 that make or break this series for me, what made Secret War so good was that its second act was the best part of the story. What made House of M so bad was that nothing happened from issues 4-6.

Can't say I would have predicted where we are now.
What have we got?
'42' taking inmates
Shield and pro-reg capes arresting non-compliant capes.
Shield suppression of freedom of the press
Shield letting loose bad-guys
Anti-reg probably defeated in first confrontation with pro-reg.
Minor scurmishes involving X-men and YA.
The first defection - Julia Carpenter
The retirement Of Ben Grimm.
The return of Thor.
Pretty churned up landscape. Very murky, confused, continuity. Probably on the cusp of the world overthrow of super-beings.
It's a good place to be, after Stamford. The dynamic between the capes and the bad guys has virtually ceased. Everybody is too distracted to engage in nefarious or anti-nefarious activity.
Now, to create the new world order.
