Does it bother anyone else that they have reverted Gamora back to her 1970's character? Now she has always been a badass but she is nothing like the character I last saw in Infinity Watch and that Warlock mini, where she was last seen chillin with Warlock watching over Atleza, a being posed to keep the cosmos from falling into the Infinity Abyss. Now I hope they explain how she came to this point, and how she and Warlock split up cause im not digging how they are just kinda pushed her development to the side.

The last time we met Warlock wa in the Thanos mini, written by the same guy who writes Annihilation.
At that point Gamora was still living in semi-matrimonial bliss with Warlock.
So I think the Annihilation crew knows what they're doing.

Im not questioning her role in the continuity Im questioning how she is being written. She is her hard life 70's self with no explanation other than "She was tired of being used by gods." I just hope they give her a backstory or something to explain this change. She had softened a great deal in her time with Warlock.

yeah, like in She-Hulk, i dont think she got in the ring with Champion...
Which always made me think..."...why not?!"

this could be her from the 70s she could have done this when she had the time gem and not know it so this verson could have gone out and had a life while the other stayed with Adem
of cource we want adem to show up so I dont think we will see that as the
answer .

I am sort of inclined to think this ^^^ as the reason for the change.

I can't say I'm bothered by it since Annihilation: Ronan and Annihilation the series are the first comics I've purchased that had Gamora in it (still haven't gotten the Infinite Gauntlet/Infinity War) but I can still see that there are certain discrepencies with the character that are being explained or are in the proccess of being explained as Annihilation progresses.

They made it fairly obvious within the story, telling us that being on that planet had an effect on their psyches. Remember Ronan commenting that he had to shake something off in his head, that he was being led into conflict with Gamora?

They are no longer on that planet in Annihilation #1 and she "seems" to be acting the same way. Hopefully they shed some light on her in the coming issues to be sure.
