SO reading back on the ol' HOM I remembered one of the mysteries that i had been waiting the whole of the event to find out:
who exactly were the three people behind the professor? (Granted, two of them were Pietro and Wanda. But are we to just assume Magneto was the other?)
and where the heck WAS the professor in the 'new' world?
and how did they pull it off? did they even use the professor to see what all the supes 'truly wanted', (and if so, how did they do it without cerebra), or do we chalk it up to Wanda's seemingly infinte powers? (and if so, why did they need the professor at all?)
Anyone?

Yeah.

He could have been in either two places. The church where he was being manipulated all this time or at Scotland/Muir Island which is where he appears during Deadly Genesis.

That's pretty much they way they did it. Quicksilver tells his sister what to do and she used Professor X to get inside the heads of everyone and made everyone to believe the illusion although some were more resistant to the hex magic/telepathic stuff.

Yep, Dark Beast basically laid out how Wanda could do what she did... a few issues before HoM in Excalibur. She tapped Magneto's limitless powers and Xavier's telepathy to basically power and create her 'World-Wide Woogie'.

this is slightly off topic, but still house of M, I read House of M: Spidey... I thought House of M was part of the normal Universe...? How does the HofM: Spidey tie in to the rest of the world. or is the whole House of M world some twisted universe outside the 616?
PS: only house of M story I read...
House of M was technically 616 but it got messed up by the Scarlet Witch's reality warping powers.

I think that's really sloppy of them to not give us the Professor's point of view of the whole thing - where he was, how he was forced to be a part of it all

Its a different world... kinda... basically the whole 616 earth (maybe universe cause it affected captain marvel in thunderbolts) gets altered, and is ruled by mutants under magneto.
but i never understood how house of M: spider-man fitted into the continuity they set up... because in the actual main series, he's still a celebrity as far as i can work out... but by the end of the mini, he's moved out of new york and is hated by everyone... i dont understand that much.

That is exactly what confused me...

While everyone else seemed to tie their stories in pretty well, the Spider-Man story doesn't fit all that well. Maybe the writer was just lazy, or just didn't care. Many of us just have assumed that it actually takes place a few years ago in the HoM version of reality. So he's been pretending to be dead for a while, before Layla and the others come along and tap him. It's about the only way that you can nudge it into making sense.

The official answer, I believe, is that the events in the Spidey tie-in actually took place before most of the events in the House of M mini.
Which, looking back, that might work, but it sure as heck wasn't obvious at the time.

It doesn't work, someone in the HoM mini even shouts out "Spider-Man" rocks which is odd for someone being dead.
However it's the only way it can make even in a little sense.
I'm sure Mark Waid said he wasn't giving the proper information to do it right.

I wish Wanda would *sigh* "woogie" this entire event from my memory. WHat exactly did it accomplish besides nothing on top o nothin'?

anyone have the answer to this? We were all discussing this back when the last issue came out and we've no-prized it so that he was believed to be dead by the time he's sighted again by the kid on the street other than Peter Parker/Spider-Man sightings.
Here's Tom Brevoort's answer to it:
SPIDEY HOM theh limited series all takes place between the end of HOM #1 and when Wolvie's crew recruits Spidey in, I think, HOM #5. By that point, Spidey is generally believed to be dead by the public at large, except for "Elvis sightings" of people who claim that they've seen him alive. But we couldn't say any of this in HOM #5 without compromising the ending of SPIDEY HOM.

Okay yeah, I think that is a bs answer given to hide the fact that it bears no resemblance to the rest of the world. Because, even if he left and promised only to come back if magneto didn't stop fucking with the humans.
do you really think he would bring his whole family with him. I think the spidy mini was poorly planned.
though i liked the spidy is green goblin because of his guilt over wanting gwen over mj.
but him knowing the way the world should be and keeping a diary about it makes no since with the way it plays out in hom. when he finds out he freaks out and stays with the rest of the crew.
it sort of reminds me of the finalle of the spidy animated series where he travels to the silver spider's universe and he is friends with wilson fisk, married to gwen, publicly known, that sort of thing.
