I've ben re-reading some "classics" from Verne, Wells, Dumas...
I've been buying my 10 year old the Classics Illustrated versions of these and I've been reading the unabrigded versions at the same time. It's been a great excuse to relive these and he and I get to have great disscussions afterword.
The best for us so far have been "War of the Worlds" and "3 Musketeers".

All 5 of the Musketeers novels are great. Great adventure stories for adults and children.

Dumas is great. "The Count of Monte Cristo" is still one of my favorite novels.
(and, yes, I love all the Muskateers as well)

I loved those Classics Illustrated books! I still remember some of the pictures and they were just really cool.
Now I just have to get around to reading the adult versions of the stories. Should probably start with The Count of Monte Cristo as that was my favorite.
And it's really cool that you read with your kid like that. Keep him interested in books.
