Which Spider-Man costume did you prefer?

Which Spider-Man costume do you think is the coolest? I think his new Iron Man one is cool but I also like the Venom costume he had for a brief period. I'm going with the Iron Man one.:D

I kinda agree. I just went on a huge back issue reading spree (sale at comic store) and I got a lot of issues from this time. I enjoyed it. However, not a huge fan of the new costume. I was just thinking that reading Sen. 29. I think this book is a great example of why i dont care for the cosutme. I think Medina is doing a great job with this book (actually surprised no one is talking about this), but i don't feel the new costume is "intricate" enough. The old one had a classic feel, and the look to it was more then just a costume. I think when Medina was drawing the old costume it had a similar look to those now classic Amz. books in lets say the early 300's.

However, I like the new powers that come with the costume. It never made sense to me that Peter never made something to filter out gasses. I would like it if Peter switched similar to what he did with the black costume. I also believe this was a power of the costume. However, he needs to figure out how Tony had it tapped cause although the comment in Amazing was kinda dumb, I still dont trust old Slick Tony (kinda like Slick Willy but just a little less "slicky").

I always loved Ben Reilly's costume, I thought that was a terrific update on the original and I am glad at least that Spider-Girl wears it, so its not totally gone.

Can't beat the classic, in dull red and black or in bright red and blue, with or without webbed armpits, big eye holes or small, it's not only Spidey's best look, it's one of the best designs in comics.

I've actually always liked the webbing under the arms. It makes him look much more intimadating when he is jumping down at you. I think the little flying ability in the new suit is almost like an extreme example of the webbing under his arms.

I think my faves are the Black costume and Reilly's,can't really decide which I like most,haha. Naturally I love the classic as well,and I did kinda like the ol Scarlet Spider,but I don't mind not seein it,though I think it would be interesting to see an Ultimate version of it. Can't say much for the Iron Spidey costume,doesn't appeal to me,the colors primarily,but also the flying,seems to much for Spidey,anyway that's a nother discussion altogether anyway.

Right now, I'm going to say my favorite is the Iron Spidey costume. Just because I'd like to see it stick around a little longer and because it's pretty cool. And to spite all the naysayers.

Though his original costume is definately a classic. And you can't argue with a classic. I love it as well.

I suppose the black costume is visually one of his best designs, since it's simple, yet unique and aesthetically pleasing. It's not one of my favorites though. Nor do I associate it most with the character.

And I have to say I was a huge fan of the Spider-Man Unlimited costume during the time. I was pretty young then, though. It doesn't hold as much favor for me now.

I believe that costume did appear once in the comics. It was in a Web of Spider-Man issue where he went into the Negative Zone. The process altered his costume (possibly as a result of some conversion to anti-matter). So, you don't even need to branch out into the animated series!

I have to admit, I was one of the (apparently) few people who really liked the iron costume. I didn't care for the colors, but, eh, what can I say? It looked cool. I've always liked the black costume too, and it was my favorite until iron spidey showed up, but seeing Spidey in the black costume again has firmly placed it back as my favorite.

So... Here's a list in order.

1) Black costume
2) Normal Spidey w/ no webs in the arm pits (I'm sorry, the webs just look so retarded, almost as bad as a cape)
3) Iron Spidey
4) Normal Spidey w/ black instead of blue
5) Scarlet Spider (the one with the blue shirt, not Ben Reilly's Spider-man)

The Larsen-era Black and Red. I can’t say that Larsen was ever a favorite artist (or even in my top ten) but I like the idea of the black and red costume just because it seems more “spidery” than red and blue. I know the blue has been occasionally substituted with black as far back as the Ditko days but Larsen did it often enough that it seemed to be the actual color instead of just an art mistake.
