Oh lord, there was so much wrong with SaGa Frontier. Alkaiser was the only thing I liked about that game.
But the worst game I've played? Not just something I didn't like (which a lot of people are going to wind up listing)? Oh hell...
- Timekillers
- Rise of the Robots
there's more, but I tend to erase the true crap from my memory. Those two stand out for doing nearly everything wrong. I'll try to remember more

Okay, there is one game you put there that I can not agree on (I have played all these games, even AODK)....... And that's Streets of Rage 3. If you had said Golden Axe 3, I would agree, but never Streets of Rage 3. That game was the best in the series. The other games you put are FAR worse than SoR3....
Unless..... Did you play the version with Ash in it? That may have influenced your decision.

While I agree that SoR 2 was the better game overall(I think 3 had some of the better mechanics, though), and didn't get hacked in the translation, 3 was by no means a bad game.

I'm looking forward to Diamond and Pearl for the sole fact you can FINALLY play online... sorta.
Anyhow, to answer the question... I can't think of any off the top of my head, but a couple include:
Sonic Shuffle, Crash Bash and any Mario Party rip-off
The Mario Party series after 2

I like Chrono Cross as a game, I just wish it had some character development to make the story count for something. And I wish you could have the fast forward button right from the start because sometimes the game takes forever to do simple tasks like getting on a boat.
But then, I wish for the fast forward button in pretty much every game.

E.T. was rushed, but I'll bet it wasn't as rushed as "Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing", which was actually released incomplete. Apparently, your opponent didn't move, there were clipping errors out the wazoo, and let's not forget the "YOU'RE WINNER!" victory screen.

Metroid Prime 2 may well be among the most disapointing games of all time (The storyline was a terribly boring rehash of the first, the world design was painfully un-interesting, the boss designs were awful and generic, and the game was way too easy), but to say it is the worst is simply ignorant. Any game with graphics that incredible, and gameplay that fluid and fun could never be considered the worst; unfortunately, the technical achievements of the game couldn't redeem the creative aspects.

It's essential for mastering the controls and getting your Force Powers stronger. And, if you didn't know, the Intro is when T3 fixes the Ebon Hawk. I advise you wait until the cut content is finished though, since the game was rushed by LucasArts for the Holiday Season.

Not completely an urban myth - in 1983 the N.Y. Times reported on Atari dumping large quantities of Atari systems and cartridges in New Mexico. However, whether or not "E.T." was a major part of those mass dumpings is not proven, only speculated. Many broken parts and returned games were buried there.

Yeah, but the ET part is pretty much baseless IIRC. I think a lot of people put the 2 incidents together with no real evidence. I am taking this from the memory of an article I read months ago mind, so I could be way off.

Well yeah - it's speculation of 1 and 1 not automatically making 2, but it sounds plausible enough. Atari did dump broken parts and cartridges. E.T. did undersell it's massive production amount. Hence it sounds plausible that Atari might have dumped unsold E.T. cartridges, it's just not proven. Makes for a nice little urban myth, since it's based partially in a true event. :)

Wow I have a new game that I think is the worst ever created and nothing even comes close. GRAND THEFT AUTO SAN ANDREAS!!!! I’ve played a lot of bad games in my lifetime but even the old school games don’t even come close to the frustration that this game has put me through.
Sure nearly every character in the game annoys me, especially the main character, but that’s not the problem. The glitches are insane! I have just spent 2 hours trying to complete one mission. I simply have to get a friend along with 2 gang members I recruit and take them to the fight. Here’s the problem the friend will only follow if I don’t recruit anyone and you must have him with you. I’ve tried everything and I can’t play the game any further because of a stupid glitch.
The worst part is this isn’t the first glitch. For numerous reasons I’ve had to replay about 1/10th of the missions because the car gets stuck in a hill or something else incredibly stupid.

The only "failure" in WoW is that people resort to using real money to purchase in game items, either because earning gold is boring as hell OR because the game makes it impossible to compete with losers who live in Azeroth. In any event, this black market is indicitive of some gameplay flaws.

I don't think the problem's with the game here... here's a hint, the car that spawns right next to you at the very beginning of the mission isn't there for looks.

Yeah I was fairly far in the game so I know that. Here was the problem. I needed to get a story character and three thugs in a car, drive to the mission, and kill everyone there. If I don't recruit the thugs the story character follows me around gets in the car and everything he should do. When I recruit any thugs he no longer responds. If I try to drive to the mission with the thugs I can only go so far before the mission target disappears and the game tells me to get the story character. If I don't recruit the thugs it wont even show me where the mission target is.
So either way I cant go further in this mission. On top of that it is the only current mission avalible. So yeah I'd call it a glich. Along with all the times I drove through walls, into hills, etc.
All the other GTA games have been fairly good with only an occasional gltch. This one seems like they didn't even test it.

Quest 64.
You don't really know why your questing (father disappears?) You don't know who your fighting. There is no map, and whenever you win a fight you jump and do a pirrouette which completely disorrients you and the camera. There is no development in either character or story. You can get turned around and backtrack through an entire area without realizing it. Did I mention that there was no usable map or cmpass in an incredibly large world?

Not only that but they buried all remaining copies in the desert.
http://www.snopes.com/business/market/atari.asp
This band made a music video about digging up copies of ET in the desert. Despite being faked for the video's sake, I think it's nonetheless entertaining.

E.T. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E.T._the_Extra-Terrestrial_%28Atari_2600%29) - I played this game and it is without a doubt, from top to bottom, a piece of garbage.
Back to the Future I (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back_to_the_Future_%28video_game%29), II & III (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back_to_the_Future_II_%26_III) - They may not seem bad on the surface, but trust me, they sucked.

This thread is definitely full of crappy games, but I think you're all forgetting that the absolute WORST games of them all are the ones that are so terrible you aren't even playing them.
There are games out there so bad you haven't heard of them. There are games out there so bad that you instinctively know never to touch them. If you're even playing it, it's probably not the WORST game ever made.
Which is why we have Seanbaby (http://www.seanbaby.com). He's out there playing Secret Agent Barbie so you don't have to.

C'mon seriously. Most of these games don't even come close to deserving the title. Even E.T. was enjoyable when I was a young lad (even tho it was BROKEN).
My vote will go to some NES game during its huge explosion that was a completely broken blobby mess, only made to cash in on the systems huge popularity, but too rushed for any gamer to even make heads or tails of it, like the Conan game. But, even the horrendous Conan game did have a reference to a bad ass, so.... that can't be THE worst game ever.

Even the worst NES game is better than E.T..

I agree with some of your choices (Bubsy 3D was really horrendous..the levels were made of blue weird pyramid-like walls and Bubsy itself used to scream some of the most annoying digitalized phrases ever), but you guys must have missed the 3DO, and the worst game ever made was for that console: Virtuoso. The game was a 3D shooter in third person..so you have half of the screen completely covered by your guy's big body. You have to kill robot spiders, big robot spiders, medium-sized robot spiders, flying robot spiders. Bosses are a totally different story tho; they are GIANT robot spiders.
And what about the story? A futuristic king of rock is bored with his rich life and decides to play in a virtual world in which he has to go through all this bullshit. Talk about twisted sense of humor, huh?

Well, they did merge the gaming concepts of Budokai and Sagas to give Budokai Tenkaiichi 1 and 2, which were good games.
But yeah, Sagas sucked majorly. So did Super Dragon Ball Z for that matter. Mixing Street Fighter gameplay with Tekken was a BAAAAD mistake.

For me, the worst game ever would be The Lord of the Rings for SNES. As a young Tolkien fan, I was excited as hell to play it. I popped the cartridge in my system and eagerly began my adventure.
Long story short, I wept for days.

i have an intense hate for Spider-man 2: The Movie game for the PC.
I bought it for the extreme hope of playing the game on my PC (as I have no PS2). I was wondering why it's only in one CD...but I thought I was just lucky.
Lo and behold, the suckiest game ever made. Even kids would cry just playing it. Everything about is was just...just...so..INANE! The controls were stripped to the bare minimum...and worst of all, the game didn't even have the dignity to let you fight bosses on your own! It pauses and spells out exactly how to beat every single boss fight!
Thank you for dredging up hurtful memories..I thoroughly enjoyed it. ^_^

I remember that stupid game. It wasn't even the same game as the ones on the consoles. It made you swing from "swing access points".

ahh yes, the swing access points...if that game didn't put Fizz Factor (the ones who made the game) out of business I'd hunt them down myself. That was a waste of money, not to mention falsely advertised. That was what added wood to the fire.

I'm gonna get stoned to death for this, but since I arrived late to the video game world and missed all the early crap, I must nominate Panzer Dragoon for the Saturn. It was HORRID. I could never even get past the first level because that stupid dragon was too hard to steer and I couldn't see where the hell I was flying. ARGH.

South Park on the N64 really stunk!
I bought it for £2 from a second hand electronics store and regretted it.
